Galaxy cruises past 3 million worldwide and is now the 5th best selling Wii game ever, behind Wii Sports, Wii Play, Twilight Princess and Mario Party 8.

Yep half of Halo 3 and doesn't seem to be slowing down in sales, I know we're always a little short on copies at Game Stop usually with only one or two in stock, they sell fast and I have no doubt that it will pass Halo 3 in sales just wished Japan helped out a little more haha, oh well we American gamers got our heads on straight and can see its a great game.

Maybe it'll someday catch up with MP8.. It just might, if it has good legs, MP8 will stop selling when MP9 arrives. :p

I saw like a dozen and a half copies at best buy today. Still, it is selling well.

Even Japan is increasing at a weekly rate. I think it'll still reach that million mark there (Which would be very nice for Nintendo seeing that only 1 Gamecube title ever broke that mark)

What is noticeable is that Wii games tend to have a 'not SUPER first week' but end up having really long legs'

Super Mario Galaxy had a good launch and has enormous legs in the US though! But a great example of the long legs thing is RRR, RE4, GH3, Mario And Sonic a.t. Olympics and a lot of mediocre crap like Carnival games...!

Good for developers though, high sales = everybody happy i guess ...

i wonder what is better for developers; sell it all in a few weeks, or sell the same number over a year or so?

Same amount of copies? If you are a good developer. All upfront. It allows you to reinvest that money back quicker which leads to quicker turn around time and theoretically more profits.
