Yeah, it's been annound for more than just 360.  And apparently Robot are no longer working on Age of Empires Online.  Microsoft has given that job to Gas Powered Games.

What stuff have they done before?

Most notably the amazing Supreme Commander, followed by the horribly mediocre Supreme Commander 2.  Plus some other stuff like Dungeon Siege and Demigod.

OK, that's got me hopeful then. Supreme Commander was good... 2 was overly dumbed down but hopefully they won't make the same mistakes. The beta of AOE Online seems quite fun.

Wow really?

What a mess. Age of Empires is truly dead. Not that I was excited the least for this browser online cartoon game anyway.

OT: stupid of Robot entertainment to make a kiddy cartoon Warcraft style game instead of a serious historical RTS, which they probably would have got some talent left for.

It's not that bad. It has as much depth as the other AoE games but with cartoony graphics. Much of the AoE gameplay remains intact. I can actually see the influence of all the "Age of" games in AoE Online.

People really need to give this more of a chance. It's not just "Age of Empires: Farmville Edition". It's a serious attempt at a full AoE game but with cartoony graphics. Everything else is still AoE.

i was reading something earlier where they said they had 3 projects being worked on (which did not include aoeo)  so there is still some hope that they are making an rts, just not an aoe one.

yeah its on the same line as them taking back the servers update/ patches etc for age of empires 3 and age 2.

Bet with Conegamer and Doobie_wop

will they make something that would be accepted as hardcore by the community?
