I feel very confident that we'll see Persona 5 at least on the PS3-exclusive if not HD Multiplat

It's totally going to be PS3 & 360.  Catherine was obviously a test run to build the engine.

Lies your too busy dancing at the Wii sales!

I wanted to say that at first but thought not to, for obvious reasons.

You can do it for me though!

For the record I aint agreeing to dance, so I am not reportable here!!!!!!!!111

@MUGEN-Kun

112K

what the

so Catherine ps3 > TLS? 0_0 That's just insane!

Indeed it is, hence why I said, "Catherine is the BREAKOUT New IP JRPG this year" post....the underdog came out of nowhere.

Will check Amazon Japan at the end of this week to see how the game was received.

Catherine is not a jrpg its more of an puzzle game.

Thats even worse for TLS lol

Doesn't matter. They shouldn't be compared at all. Unless you like to compare apple and oranges. We all know the problem with NEW JRPG IPs selling in Japan.

So why did White Knight Chronicles sell much more then, when it was less advertised, didnt have as good reviews as TLS and was released on a 2-3 million userbase compared to a 10 million userbasefor TLS?

Did WKC come out this week or something?  Create a new thread or talk about games actually relevant to this one, thnx.

And you're grossly offtopic.  As is the reaching TLS talk from the SonyCorps.

31. / 14. [WII] The Last Story (Nintendo) {2011.01.27}

Another terrible drop, already below the top 30.

I don't know why it had such a horrible word of mouth, if lucky it will barely manage to have a 1,5 multiplier over its first week sales (172,000 units). Xenoblade had good legs and it managed to double its first week sales, had The Last Story had the same legs it would have ended up selling around 230,000 units which is a really good figure.

Xenoblade --- 82,952 / 161,161
The Last Story --- 114,722 / 147,000

48. / 42. [NDS] One Piece: Gigant Battle (Bandai Namco) {2010.09.09}

This title is doing it really well, it's still on the chart after 5 months, a truly great achievement for a manganime game since these kind of titles are usually very front-loaded. This Ip really belongs to Nintendo systems.

Last known LTD sales (2010-12-20) --- 265,653 (Probably it is currently over 300,000 units)

The joke people are those who are constantly trolling about Wii games that in their minds would have sold better on PS3 .  How about making a list of PS3 games that would have probably sold better on Wii? For example we could start with 3D DOT Game Heroes or Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom ...

Of course we know that this is pure crap even if in some cases it could be true.

The Last Story should be renamed The Last Bomba.

Anyone trying to say otherwise is one of the following:

A) A Nintendo fanboy in denial

B) Wrong and ignorant about sales

C) Dumb

I said its worse because i am pretty sure JRPG's are supposed to sell better than Puzzle games in Japan. Its like a new IP FPS getting beat by a new IP Puzzle game in America. It just begs the question "would TLS have sold more on ps3?".

I think the problem here is that Catherine also outsold every new IP JRPG on PS3 this gen too, bar WKC.  It also outsold every new IP JRPG on PSP, and every one on DS except Ninokuni.  So, when faced with that... are JRPGs supposed to sell better than puzzle games?  Because unless it's developed by Level 5, that evidently isn't the case on any platform?

To be honest, I bit unsure of TLS comparison at all, given it did pretty well 1st week.  TLS also outsold every new IP JRPG 1st week on PSP now that I think about it... does that mean every PSP new IP JRPG would've been better off on Wii instead?

I spose you classify God Eater as just action then?

I tend to block out MH clones. :/

In my defense, Namco themselves don't consider it an RPG.   And Capcom doesn't consider MH an RPG either actually.  They're "Hunting Action" games.

lol, 'Hunting Action' games. That's a pretty tough reach, but I guess they lose any negative stigma RPGs may have by creating their own genre.
