" Electronic Arts is celebrating the release of Bulletstorm today by announcing the game's first downloadable content. 

The Gun Sonata pack adds three new maps for Anarchy multiplayer mode, Sewers of Stygia, Hotel Elysium, and the Villa. The pack also includes two new Echo mode maps, Crash Site and Guns of Stygia, and two new leash enhancements, the Flamingo and the Pulp. 

The Gun Sonata pack will be available this Spring for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live or $9.99 on PlayStation Network."

Wow 10 dollars for 5 new maps and two powers which would add possibly more then 20 skill shots. Never expected it to be so cheap. Makes me wonder if some maps are already availeble on the disc. Did EA just pull a Capcom?

10 dollars is cheap? for DLC 5 dollars is expensive... new maps just breaks the comunity and for me DLC is just for games that are GREAT and people can get enough... not for games that release 2 minutes ago and i don't know if it will last or not in my gaming trends...

compared to what you pay for cod dlc then it is :P. and capcom's dlc also.

im not happy about this. ea are becoming more like capcom/activision by the day. but also im not getting bullet storm, so i have nothing to complain about.

exactly... whats wrong with DLC is price and activision and capcom are the worst. but also the principle of DLC is all wrong now a days... DLC should be requested by fanbase and not some side business with parts that would be on the game if people were not so blind. but that is for other conversation... about this, i was thinking in buying the game but now not so sure... probably in a not so distante future there will be a complete version with all the DLC on the disc for alot less...

this exactly, i hate dlc.  especially when like this it is announced as soon as game is out or sometimes even before.

its like wtf, why didn't you put this in the game originally.  is this a bonus we are getting or you tryign to cheap us out of money?

I like to think if this were ps1/64 era, or even ps2 era.  Would this game bulletstorm come with already all those dlc on it?  most of the time it seems that this would be true with dlc. 

So many companies these days seem to be holding back stuff so they can later sell it as dlc

not necessarily. some games i own like Assassins Creed II (complete version) or Resident Evil 5 (gold edition) have all the DLC in the disc... EA did that too with Bad Company 2 (complete edition) that features the onslaugh mode which i got as DLC but just because it was cheap, it release like 6 months after the game itself and it was a brand new way to play on-line... Maps should be free like they are in bad company 2. Just hope DICE don't let EA screw this up for Battlefield 3.

I think you're mistaken "Did EA just pull a Capcom" when EA was going it before Capcom lol I love Battlefield Bad Company 2 but content was already on the disc when it released it just had a "release" to keep itself in the news and push sales more.  Or when they update Battlefield and you have to buy the unlock code for that 100mb update you just got AKA Vietnam.

Basically DLC is a pile of crap any way you look at it, splitting up who is playing, extra 10 to 15 dollars for something you already paid 60 for, so 75 dollars for a complete game?  No wonder THQ is talking about 100 dollar games next gen.  I've got some DLC it's true but... I've yet to pay for it outside of LBP since it was 5 dollars and added WAY more content than a couple of maps...

imagine if like EA had smash brothers.  We would be paying $5 for each new character besides the original 8 or whatever brawl starts with probably 16 in brawl.

what did bc2 had on the original disc that was payed DLC?

yes ... they did release a major update that contain vietnam inside and was unlocked by a 100kb file but that was game content released 9 months after the original game launch... that is not even similar to what capcom did with RE5...
