Forums - Nintendo - Sin and Punishment Star Successor. WTH happened???

I'm just trying to figure out why S&P is being compared to something like HOTD: Overkill. They're two completely different types of games... It's like the difference between Mario Kart and Gran Turismo, they're both racers at the most simple of definition, but they're not at all alike.

These threads might go better for the OP if they weren't full of such things.

"Why did this game with 1970's anime characters not sell as well as this game with characters that are currently going through a major Hollywood revival with big budget blockbuster movies?"

Do you really need an explanation there? Sometimes, these things should just be obvious.

This game is on my wish list but i just don't even have the time to finish unwrapping my current games.

What, you mean it was released already?!?

But seriously, lack of advertising, lack of consumer awareness and lack of support is why it sold so bad.

@lordtheknight  didnt know Svenson said that, but this is Capcom, the same Capcom who said RE4 would stay GC exclusive, not TIMED exclusive, but exclusive. Dont know why you believe what they say.  Never said SF4 was never an option, but this may be a crazy thought, maybe it was never an option for CAPCOM, which is why they didnt do it and FYI would you rather have nothing or something??? I think most people would have the latter.  As for big games, not gonna happen, at least not for Wii. Need to let that go.

@milkyjoe  i was just trying to stop the whole "there are too much rail shooters on WIi" argument before it even started, I know some people were going to go for that, so i was just trying to preemtively strike as for your 2nd point touche.

@amp316  I try to keep things light, but seriously this isnt so much an analysis of gaming spending habits, i was just want to know why these proud console owners complain about not having good games, but when they do come around they sell like this. I find it weird. Some complain that Wii is not getting good games, but ignore the few that are good. Its strange

Why should I let it go? They gyped custumers out of games they wanted to buy, and gyped themselves from the money they would have gotten from that. It's never going to stop being an idiotic policy, and I'm not going to stop stating that it is.

Plus just because you think people would go with the something doesn't mean they will. You really need to learn to apply human nature to economics.

@lordtheknight how did they gyp Wii owners again??? Its not like they promised anyone anything. If someone bought a Wii thinking they were going to get something that they didnt, whose fault is that??? YOu act like people were tricked into buying a Wii. It might be an idiotic policy, but guess what???? ITs there policy, this was a democracy last time i checked and people should be able to do what they want (within reason).  and having something is better than having nothing. Would you honestly rather not have nothing???

It's the publishers' decision to release what games they want.

It's also the customers' decision whether to buy the games.

So, it's not fully up to publishers what they want and how they want. Unless they don't mind not making sales.

First of all, they used weasel words to make it look like they were promising somethig, which is no better.

Second of all, this is business, and a non essential one. Customers will likely buy something close to what they need if what they want it still available, but games are not a need, so applying that mentality is idiotic. That also applies to the last sentence of your comment. It also applies to the very notion that games compete against everything, so if Wii owners want those games, are not given those games, they will NOT SETTLE for "something" games. They will chose other games entirely, that are included in what they want.

3. Third of all, you are actually blaming the customers for chosing the winning system? Bullshit. The REAL question is "If developers chose the system that isn't in the lead, who's fault is that?". Capcom had THREE YEARS OR MORE to admit they were wrong, so HOW DARE you blame the customers for chosing the winning system instead of the developers for refusing to support it well after it was clear they had enough time to make up for it (as in they did not have to stop supporting the other systems, so don't even try that one if you were going to).
