Forums - Nintendo - Sin and Punishment Star Successor. WTH happened???

@pavolink  never played King's Story  would be silly for me to make a thread about it having never played it, that would make me a hypocrite.  Madworld was okay, not great, but just decent. Muramasa i bought day 1 and i liked it, but that game is too weird for westerns, that game to me was for more of the Anime crowd. the entire game is spoken in Japanese and the story is heavily japanese. I knew that game wasnt exactly a system seller, hopefully the rumors of it going to XBL/PSN are true because i want more people to enjoy it.

@Kasz i feel you on what your saying but i wasnt expecting a mil, I just wasnt expecting it too do this badly. I expected it to do at least as well as those RE light gun games, i mean those things are just thrown together. As for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 pick one version and FYI me and a few people knew what Tatsunoko was. IF you had Cartoon Network in the 90s and knew what a G-Force was, then theres no excuse

@lordtheknight ok so maybe i was out of hand saying 500k aint all that but with the WIi's install base and some people crying that Iphone got SF4 and not Wii. Id figure that they would give this game a go. its just as good as the others in the VS series. and the fact that it sold like that in the US shows that the not knowing what a Tatsunoko is dont mean crap. Again your trying to turn this into a "Wii cant sell core games thing" if I wanted to say that id say it, no subliminals. I just hate to see my fav genre not getting the support i think it deserves. But Capcom is happy so thats all that matters, hopefully we'll see a sequel (i doubt it).

Well your claim, in another thread, of the fighting audience passing Nintendo systems by did kind of make it look like that, even if you didn't mean it.

Plus just because a game sells well doesn't mean Capcom actually might think more should be made. They've shown themselved to be very dumb with the Wii. They sold loads of copies of a number of games on it, and only one got a follow up.

@Myak 4 damn that is upsetting!!!

@lordtheknight  I still stand by that, Cvs.S2 did 300,000 in Japan on PS2 alone??? Do you honestly think that that game did not sell at least as well in the other territories??? Even if it did half that in US and another half in Others the game would still have sold better than TvsC, you know what i cant wait for the Mvs.C3 #s to come in cause when it crushers Tvs.C i would like to see what excuses people come up with then. Cause that whole "niche" thing will fall apart

OT the game is dirt cheap right now brand new like $25 bucks, so what are you waiting for???

At least as well would be 900K, not exactly making 500K look abysmal.

That's the problem. I'm not denying those other games sold well. You are denying TvC sold well, even when Capcom said otherwise.

As for this game, it's a niche game. Too many people seem to think that any "core" game should sell as well as any other, and the Wii is just preventing them from it.

Besides which, Marvel VS Capcom 3 is going to crush Tsukuno vs Capcom?

Er... no Kidding.

One of them is an Anime studio nobodies heard of outside Japan outside of a couple of the characters.

The other is the biggest name in comics, known world wide.

1. Some DC fans are going to flame you for that.

2. So selling even better in the US, where they are less known, really speaks for something.

1. I'd be surprised actually, most DC fans except Marvel is the more well known and successful brand, has nothing to do with quality.  Marvel just pushes sales more.

2. I'd say so.  Largely probably systemic of just users wanting a strong Marvel VS Capcom type game.

Then I don't have to expect threads for those games? I wonder which game will be the next one.

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

@lordtheknight  that might have been too strong of teminology, but IMHO compared to the other systems fighting games have kind of been passing the Ninty systems by since the end of SNES era, hell I dont even this there was a 2d fighter on N64 outside of SSB. Thats why I thought that more people would have flocked to Tvs.C a bit faster, here you have a VS. game thats exclusive on Wii, I mean it wasnt like there were alot of other fighters out there to choose from, but on the other hand there is a large amount of multiplat owners who probably didnt care or was just content to stick it out with Mvs.C2 HD. Im a fighting freak so i gobble up anything Capcom will throw my way. There loss I guess and yeah Capcom has done weird stuff. Not that i would have bought it but they could have done a original RE for Wii I mean for god's sake they did it three times for GC (I count the remake as an original, seeing as it was made from the ground up)

The notion of gobbling up is part of a fallacy that when it comes genre or type, one game is a good as the other. Just because there was a fighting game doesn't mean we will flock to it. If it's good, we will buy it, but not in the numbers of the big series because, now try to follow this because it's a pretty big leap, it's not one of the big series. Vs overall is not as huge as the Street Fighter series, or the specific popular Capcom Vs games.

Imagine if Fighter's History got put on a system, and a gaming company assumes that is the test for how Street Fighter II would do on that system.

@lordtheknight  but Tvs.C was good?? thats the thing, i could see if it sucked, then i would tell people to stay away but thats not the case. So quality is not the problem in this case, im not saying the game should have sold like Street Fighter, that would be insanity.  Figther's History is a bad analogy cause one, i dont remember Capcom ever saying that Tvs.C was a test. I dont know where someone is getting that from.  Capcom just wanted to give SOMETHING to Wii only owners, I wonder why didnt you get this game??? Matter -of-fact what good 3rd parties games have you bought??? No disrespect but I see that you complain about lack of good effort on Wii, but I never hear of you actually playing these games.

@pavolink  those games are kind of weird to begin with, I could see how those games arent setting the charts on fire, so IMHO there is no reason to comment unless its just to say more people should get them cause they are the ish. I was thinking of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom but Capcom said they liked the sales, so who am i too argue??? Was thinking of Bully but that was a port and i doubt people even knows it exist on Wii, hell i dont think they know it exists at all. My next one will be Modnation Racers that game got little love and its a shame. (i told people this is not some "Wii core games dont sell)

Christian Svenson actually implied that if it sold well, the might be more coming (now it looks like a flat out lie).

Plus Wii owners did NOT WANT "SOMETHING". They wanted the big games. So why should we buy something else in droves? How could you even think we would be happy with just "SOMETHING".

You're making it look like Street Fighter IV was somehow not an option for the Wii, which is bullshit, especially since you think TvC should have sold better, which means SFIV would as well. If they wanted to give us something, they should have given us the big games that we want.

It was a sequel to a niche Japan only N64 game with next to no advertising.  That's what happened
