Forums - Sales - gt5 sold 6,4m to stores until december 31st

Continuing from previous thread...

For reference the first GT4's numbers found in Web-Archive (aka Sep 2005):

Release Date Title Units (K)*
2005/3/10 Gran Turismo 4 (Korean) 60
2005/3/9 Gran Turismo 4 (EU) 3,550
2005/2/22 Gran Turismo 4 (North America)  2,030
2004/12/28 Gran Turismo 4 (Asia)  60
2004/12/28 Gran Turismo 4 (Japan)  1,090

*as of Sep 2005

Gran Turismo 5 is tracking way way way better than Gran Turismo 4.

Edit - Fixed Asia and Japan dates.

Wait, the numbers are from september 2005 yet GT4 released in December 2005 in Asia and Japan? Or is the date wrong?

A typo from PD site... fixed now.

So this is shipped or sold?  If shipped, can I get estimated sold numbers?

The old thread was locked semi-accidentally (done on purpose but for reasons that turned out to be incorrect).  This thread popped up with a more accurate title and continued the conversation so it seems better to just leave this one up than to unlock the original.

our apologies for the confusion.

...

Seems to be shipped.

Yeah, but doesn't include January. So probably undertracked a bit here.

VGC done a good job this time.

- North America... in line with NPD and PD.
- Japan... in line with MC, Famitsu and PD.

- Just EMEAA seems a bit undertracked... but that the only place without a especialized tracking service like NPD, MC or Famitsu.

Had to know the "shipped" piece would show up.

Looks like it's still a bit undertracked on the Chartz, but the numbers are fantastic either way!

This is shiped isnt it. but i dont know if its undertracked because the numbers on vgc seem reasonable enough. but if its undertracked in EMMEA i wouldnt be supprised because other games in that region seem to be undertracked, eg Sly Collection.

so i'm interested to see how well other titles are doing in the region.
