I started reading Angles and Demons by Den Braun. Hopefully, it will be as good as Da Vinci's Code

Angels and Demons was a lot better than Da Vinci Code, I'm sure you will agree.

Oh my, I'm definately not gonna read The Da Vinci Code now.

Just finished The Dragon Reborn a couple days ago, now I'm about 100 pages into the Shadow Rising.  Since I've already read this far a couple times, I'm amazed that I'm still picking out some details that could be considered crucial to the storyline.

*SPOILER ALERT*

*SPOILER ALERT*

I cannot believe it took me 3 times reading The Dragon Reborn to have it finally come to me that Ba'alzamon is not the dark one, but instead just stupid Ishamael.  I mean, I knew Ishamael was referred to as Ba'alzamon, but I just thought he was trying to make people frightened of him, and that the Dark One was in fact the "true" Ba'alzamon.  I guess my name just means I'm a stupid Forsaken.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Well, not really a lot better I guess, I just preferred it, they both have very similar writing styles to them.  Do you not like the nonstop action types of books, or what?

I like books who aren't shallow, and who have more to offer than outrageos things, like planes who can fly without wings.

Uh? I remember Robert Langdon flying in a high-tech jet but that's certainly not the focus of the book. I found both Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci code very interesting. They are filled with trivia about religious sybolism and art. It's fun to follow the heroes as they decipher clues in paintings, writings, sculptures.

All of Dan Brown's books are very formulaic but they're still intertaining.

I know that that wasn't the focus of the book. But it seemed so outrageous and distracting, and was put there to draw attention and make the book seem interesting. I simply hate Dan Brown's writing style. There are books in that genre that are far better (like The Millennium thrilogy by Steig Larsson).

I've been hearing lots of good about the Millennium books, maybe I'll pick that up next.

Definately. They're very interesting. Certainly entertaining (really got into them with the second book).

He does use some outrageous things, but I think that's part of what makes the books unique.  He's making a book that to many seems like its science fiction, as a lot of the technologies are unknown to us, when he has done extensive research, and in theory, the stuff that happens in his book could happen any day.
