Forums - Gaming - Sledgehammer Wants To Deliver A '95-Plus Rated' Call Of Duty Game

Sledgehammer Games has high hopes for its debut release, revealing that it expects to deliver "a 95-plus rated Call of Duty game" that meets "the high expectations of gamers today."

Expectations for the upcoming game were revealed in a job advertisement for a QA Tester, stating that "the candidate will help Sledgehammer Games deliver a 95-plus rated Call of Duty game "bug free" meeting the high expectations of gamers today."

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are currently the two highest rated Call of Duty games, each scoring a 94 Metacritic rating. The Xbox 360 version of last year's game Call of Duty: Black Ops received an 87 Metacritic rating.

Despite being expected to go on sale later this year, Sledgehammer is yet to publicly disclose any details about its upcoming first-person Call of Duty. The game is rumoured to be in development in conjunction with Infinity Ward, the team behind Modern Warfare 2, but publisher Activision is yet to comment on specifics.

But Sledgehammer isn't the only one expecting this year's Call of Duty to perform well. Activision said last week that it hopes it'll be the "biggest game of the year".

This year's Call of Duty is expected to launch in autumn. Platforms are still to be announced.

Well considering its harder and harder to make even a 90 game these days (reveiwers are getting harsh) they better go balls to the wall on it. I don't think they will be able to do.

Read this awhile ago and honestly who cares. Even if they do make a excellent game, it probably wont recieve that in reviews because COD is getting old and they're not IW. (That matters, IW brandname makes an average game into a '95' game.

Wow, way to set the bar low because a "95-plus rated Call of Duty" is really like a 60-minus rated game

well there is no more blinded reviewers like with MW2 whcih was way way overated. 75 meta at best.

there game will get 70-80 meta. they are only going to get lower and lower because what are they going to change?

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Just ask Activision to increase the amount of money they already bribe reviewers with.

not going to happen because they are not IW. Black Ops craps all over MW2 but got a lower score??? Zombies, Dead Ops>Spec Ops, campaign is better, online maps are better, games more balanced online. I think MW2 is just overrated

Agreed. It could become a 85-90 rated game on meta, but I doubt that this time around reviewers will be kind with the game. Especially if its MW3.

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Can't wait to see what they got.
