Sledgehammer Games has high hopes for its debut release, revealing that it expects to deliver "a 95-plus rated Call of Duty game" that meets "the high expectations of gamers today."
Expectations for the upcoming game were revealed in a job advertisement for a QA Tester, stating that "the candidate will help Sledgehammer Games deliver a 95-plus rated Call of Duty game "bug free" meeting the high expectations of gamers today."
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are currently the two highest rated Call of Duty games, each scoring a 94 Metacritic rating. The Xbox 360 version of last year's game Call of Duty: Black Ops received an 87 Metacritic rating.
Despite being expected to go on sale later this year, Sledgehammer is yet to publicly disclose any details about its upcoming first-person Call of Duty. The game is rumoured to be in development in conjunction with Infinity Ward, the team behind Modern Warfare 2, but publisher Activision is yet to comment on specifics.
But Sledgehammer isn't the only one expecting this year's Call of Duty to perform well. Activision said last week that it hopes it'll be the "biggest game of the year".
This year's Call of Duty is expected to launch in autumn. Platforms are still to be announced.
