Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski has said he would like to see death-prone Clayton Carmine die in Gears of War 3.
However, that decision is not up to him.
A charity event held last summer was set up to decide the fate of Carmine.
Xbox players casted their votes by purchasing t-shirts for their avatars featuring the slogans "Save Carmine" or Carmine Must Die". The "Fate of Carmine" campaign raised $150,000 for charity Child's Play.
Speaking with Inside Xbox however, Cliff explained how he would like to see Clayton Carmine suffer the same fate as his predecessors.
"The response was huge, it raised something like $150,000 for Child's Play Charity, said Bleszinski. "Those guys continue to steam roll every year they do amazing work and it turns out people feel very passionately about it."
"Those who want Carmine to die are determined to have him die like the family of Lt. Dan, those who want him to live just believe that the Carmine family finally deserves the one guy who rises above it all."
If Cliff had it his way, he'd like to see Carmine die in a hilarious but unspectacular way.
"I just wanna see him slip and fall in the shower, joked Bleszinski. " I want him to die in the most benign, unspectacular way like he steps on a nail and winds up lock jawed and falls over eventually. Something like that. Something really lame. That's how I want it to happen."
