Simple question, does anyone know if you can use the Circle pad to play regular DS games instead of the DPad?

If it does Super Mario 64DS could become one of my favourite games ever

Yes, it's been confirmed you can use the circle pad for DS/DSi games.  It responds as a digital pad would though, so don't expect finer analog movement in Mario 64 DS.

NO IDEA, BUT CURIOUS AS WELL.  THAT ALONE IMPROVES A BUNCH OF MY DS GAMES, SUCH AS MARIO KART.

EDIT: AWW DAMN, ABOVE RESPONCE SHOOTS MINE DONW, LOL

I don't think that I'll get much use out of the slide pad, being left-handed :(

It'll just be ABXY Touch Screen for most games :o

makes sense. but SM64DS did have 'analogue' control using that weird thumb strap thing that only came with the original ds on the touch screen, but it was crap, lol. i wonder if that means the circle pad wil replicate that instead of the digital option

well regardless if the actual games controsl improve at all, it will still FEEL easier to control to us.

Nor could i. Definitely one of the more ill-advised touch-screen shoehorn-jobs over the DS' lifespan

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Yep. Do not expect great analog control for DS games, but do expect them for 3DS games.
