In this game, what matters is when you do X-Factor... 1st to use X-Factor loses the match...  And, if Dark Pheonix gets level 3 X-Factor, you've lost.... So, just wait on everyone to re-adjust... you'll be losing on a regular basist again, and see Sentinel pop up in every team.... Ten more years of MSS. There you go... Just like MvC2....

Dark Phoenix with level 3 X-Factor is just plain sick.

I have a friend that cheese me range from Chris and Iron Man and then gets me with Hulk when I get close but I got Dark Phoenix with level 3 on him and utterly destroyed all three of his characters.  It was especially fun killing Hulk with a single combo (homing TK shot, teleport, L-M-H combo, TK Drive, whatever her hyper attack is called).

Whenever peopl use phoenix, I make it my priority to take her out before they can switch....so far my plan has worked but now I'm concerned about that damn robot.

I actually don't touch Phoenix unless I'm at level 5 so you don't have a chance to touch her.  :-p

Once I hit level 5, I immediately switch to her and start using her until they kill her and turn her into Dark Phoenix.  At that point I switch her out and start using my other characters to build back up my hyper meter and use it freely with Dark Phoenix.

-edit-

Also, my MvC3 TE Fightstick came in today.

That's what snap backs are for. You can land a snap back and force Phoenix into the match :P

Luckily I don't play with people that know how to do that.  :-p

im not the only one who thinks that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was overrated??? maybe im not a freaking weirdo!!!

OT im loving this game, but i like all Capcom fighting games, even the weird ones, your talking to a guy that still has his PS copy of Pocket Fighter, bought SFAlpha3 three times, bought Fate/Stay Night for PSP (never had even seen the anime prior). Hell if they made a Twilight fighting game id probably get it, i need help.

@riot of the blood  bloody hell, you read my mind, Capcom Vs Snk 2 has got to be the most underrated/best 2d fighter EVER. Capcom needs to buy SNK's broke asses and make a part 3. Hell dont even do that, just throw that bad boy on PSN/Live (and Wii if they can) and make it online, i dont think ill ever leave my house

Pst you people don't know how to handle Pheonix, just get her health low and let the time run out.  Works every time.

I'll agree that Capcom vs SNK 2 is a great game, but I personally like the first better, it had a lot more heart put into it.  I mean all the stages had intros, the stages were so lively and gorgeous, and they kept it simple with the super combo modes.  The second game felt like it was practically thrown together.  But even then it's a great game.

^^^ i see where your coming from man but the ratio mode in the original was just unbalanced and messed up. When they made a simple change for the sequel and allowed it to be customized IMHO that made all the difference in the world

So far i love what they did with the series, I just wish they put in more charcters. And I get the feeling they're going to have character DLC with 2-3 characters at a time to milk the game up to a 50 character roster.......And I'm going to buy them all.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Yes this is true, it was unbalanced, though weren't there modes in the home release that removed the ratio system and just let you pick 3?  I can be wrong it's been a while since I played the game.
