Yeah your sleeper hit did 4,744 FW in Americas. It's a Spongebob hit on my hit-meter.

you seem to be very worried about sales, more so than enjoying games >_>;

I thought "Sleeper hit" was used when a game reaches great sales despite receiving few hype prior to its release.

You missed out one important part of that definition.  "Sleeper hits often grow in popularity over time as people promote them through 'word of mouth' communication."  So it may start off slow at the start, but if good word of mouth is spread it may become a success.  Granted this isn't guaranteed for this game, but there's always the posibility.

Seems like a great game, I think the reviewer was too hard on the graphics though, if you are going to have a massive game with this much freedom you have to take a graphics hit if you don't want to break the budget

Wow. I didn't even know it came out. Way to go Koei. Someone who wants to buy didn't even know your product had released.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Hmm  is it that great? Demo felt more like Dynasty Warriors RPG.

Seems okay. the bit that deters me is when the guy says it might not get good until the 10 or 20 hour mark. which really puts me off. the main reason i would play an RPG is the story, but sadly it seems the story is predictable and that a lot of the conversations in the game are filer and not part of the main story.

i'll see what it gets elsewhere, but great gameplay alone dosent appeal to me. and the PS2 graphics dont help either tbh.

Graphic are way better then PS2, its artwork and finish actually looks better then most titles of this generation. While the story is predictable theres a lot of cutscene and side story discussion. You should rent it and see for yourself, specifically the graphic part doesnt make any sense. Anyone that has the game will tell you its a beautiful game, corridor areas is a different thing.

Yeah, your right, i need a good JRPG this year, so i'll pick it up sometime during the year. wont be a day 1 buy for me.

From the demo I got the feeling that it was a pretty solid game, if not great. Metacritic doesn't seem to hold the same opinion.

Metacritic is a terrible way to determine the quality of JRPG's. Most critics are a bit too harsh on JRPGs.

Somehow, that's something I tried to imply.

Nah it's otherwise - jRPG get what they should be getting but most reviewers have diffrent scale for western publishers with big marketing budgets.

So you are saying they should be equally harsh?

Fair enough.
