Sniper: Ghost Warrior has sold over a million copies around the world, Polish developer City Interactive has announced.

It achieved the milestone within seven months of the game's official launch on PC and Xbox 360.

"A lot of hard work and dedication by the entire City Interactive team went into the development of Sniper: Ghost Warrior, so we are understandably pleased about the worldwide success of the game," said Marek Tymiński, CEO of City Interactive.

"This success is the perfect backdrop to reveal details about some of the fantastic games that we currently have in our development pipeline, including the sequel to Sniper: Ghost Warrior and a couple of unannounced projects."

Lat month Eurogamer broke the news that a multiplatform sequel was in development.

City Interactive has been working on it since early 2010, and has licensed Crytek's CryEngine3 game engine – used to build upcoming shooter Crysis 2 - to help.

Share price of City Interactive - Lowest level is few months before sniper release.

If it's on Steam, mostly on PC I'd wager.  The simple, cool sounding albeit generic name was the key to good sales here.  haha

It is... and that probably is the case.

Surprisingly high sales. They definitely made a profit here.

Tried the demo, didn't like it myself. Too linear, and I think the full version's supposed to be pretty linear, too.

Really is one of the best tactical shooter i ever played. I liked a lot Project IGI, but Sniper Ghost Warrior is highly more featured and it has accuracy of details. It needs some computer resources because it have 1.3 gb (see details on Place77 http://www.place77.com/sniper-ghost-warrior-demo-38836.html  , but if you adjust settings of video and display options, will run smoothly.It deservers to be in top 5 games of his genre.

Also, i have played on XBOX and effects are better.

Wow surprised so many people liked this game haha.  I was not a fan of it at all.  Even getting it at budget price I felt kinda ripped haha.  Did not make me feel like a sniper at all.  Can't say I would recommend this game to anyone. 

But I guess good for the developer as maybe they can make another one and improve on the numerous amount of flaws this one had.  Would definitely love a good sniper game.
