sorry, double post
I wish Ratchet could get some love. That game is as good as anything out this year.
Phoenix Wright mentioned more than Halo 3.
Must be an awesome game.
I love how half of those editors don't even seem to acknowledge SMG's existence. I can understand not naming it GotY, but not putting it in your top 10 list at all clearly means you hate fun.
Also, what's the deal with some of the editors naming WoW? Didn't that come out in, like, 2005?
"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

burning crusade expansion for WOW
For all those complaining i feel the same about halo 3
deal with it like rocket stated
With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.BioShock is the best game in 2007 period. Nothing touched it, it was the smoothest and most graphically enhaced game on any of the consoles this year.
Hats off to BioShock the most deserving winner of GOTY in recent memory.

Remember that these guys review games professionally all day long. Not all ten editors at GI had the time to play SMG, especially considering how packed this November was for gamers.
It's hard to put a game on your GOTY list if you haven't had a chance to play it yet. The same thing happened last year when Twilight Princess won GOTY but three or four of the editors hadn't even played it yet.
Funny thing is that I don't remember a single Nintendo fan complaining when Twilight Princess won a bunch of GOTY awards last year. That's my problem with these sorts of complaints. I had no problem with TP winning; it was a great game. Just like I don't have a problem with BioShock winning. It is also a great game. As long as magazines aren't naming mediocre games GOTY for advertising revenue purposes, I have no problem with a great game winning or not, even if I don't completely agree with their decision.

I meant last generation. I was tired when I typed that and they are not related I just wanted to express my dislike fro Game Informer.

Don't know much about other magazines, but I have GI cause I can get discounts at Gamestop. (Buying used games cheaper and I can return it in one week and try another used game for a week - I can do this until I get lazy and forget to return a game)
Bioshock wasn't that revolutionary...it just won because it ran on the Unreal Engine 3, and had guns. I honestly don't see what's so great about it. But then again, MArio is just a jumping game. But infinity ward shouldn't be devolper of the year, it should've been bioware. And Nintendo should've been publisher of the year. Halo 3, Crackdown, and Mass Effect may bee good, but Metroid Prime 3, Super Paper Mario, and Super MArio Galaxy are still a better package.
