I love how half of those editors don't even seem to acknowledge SMG's existence. I can understand not naming it GotY, but not putting it in your top 10 list at all clearly means you hate fun.

Also, what's the deal with some of the editors naming WoW? Didn't that come out in, like, 2005?

Remember that these guys review games professionally all day long. Not all ten editors at GI had the time to play SMG, especially considering how packed this November was for gamers.

It's hard to put a game on your GOTY list if you haven't had a chance to play it yet. The same thing  happened last year when Twilight Princess won GOTY but three or four of the editors hadn't even played it yet.

Funny thing is that I don't remember a single Nintendo fan complaining when Twilight Princess won a bunch of GOTY awards last year. That's my problem with these sorts of complaints. I had no problem with TP winning; it was a great game. Just like I don't have a problem with BioShock winning. It is also a great game. As long as magazines aren't naming mediocre games GOTY for advertising revenue purposes, I have no problem with a great game winning or not, even if I don't completely agree with their decision.
