Forums - Gaming - Could Final Fantasy VII be reviewed by VG Chartz?

I know were not allowed to review older games and only this gen games, but Final Fantasy 7 in now on the PSN and is technically part of the 7th generation, so would it be acceptable?

Also anything other then a 10/10 and I'll freak, bitch and complain lol

no we don't allow reviews of old games just because they're put on something like PSN or VC.  If we did we would require that they be compared to current games also on the service so it would get decimated in presentation.  The game has to have some kind of work done on it before we'll consider it such as the Ico/SotC HD pack or LoZ: OoT 3DS.

...

What makes you think that the first game VGC gives a 10 will be FFVII? Are you drunk again?

That spot is saved for infamous 2 =D

Final Fantasy VII can be compared to this gen, it's THAT ahead of its time! lol

just tell Gamerankings to go to hell and review whatever games you want, I would love to see older games reviewed.

still can not understand the love for ff7.  its almost my most hated ff games.  the only games worse than it that i have played are ff3 and ff13.  the rest i liked way more than ff7.

The reason we don't allow reviews 60 days after release is because it looks better for things like Gamerankings, but we had a rule before that about reviewing anything from more than 1 console generation back because games have to be compared to the industry at the time and it's nearly impossible to do that looking too far back.  I much prefer how we have it now even though I took advantage of the old system to do some reviews of older games like Ico.

...

No, let Suikoden I be the only PS1 game ever reviewed in here

Final Fantasy VII Is a game about a careless mercenary that works for a group called Avalanche, they try to stop a big evil corporation called Shin-Ra that pretty much is killing the planet by extracting Mako, a form of enery made by the planet lifesteam.

After some adventures (one of them is nothing but a filler involving some weird place with girls dressed as bees) they finally reach the very top of Shin-Ra headquarters, but the president of the company is killed by a ruthless, cold blooded first class soldier called Sepiroth (wich at this point everybody tought he was dead), the goup escapes and finally arraives to a world map.

After some battles, a couple of mini-games and some encounters with new characters they reach a little town called Nibelheim, wich its supposed to be the hometown of the careless mercenary and his big breasted friend, after this the main character turns slowly into a moaning, crybaby that doesn't know anything about him and the ruthless, cold blooded first class soldier evolves into an anoying moaning crybaby that wants his mommy, the whole story goes downhill from this point too and one of the main character gets killed unfortuanlly it wasn't that bloody cat.

The music is great, some of the background graphics are beautiful, the models are dated and ugly by today standars, the whole game is filled with pointless scenes and you fnish the whole experience asking why fangirls love Vincent so much if he is barely used in the game, not the best title in the series; the truly excelence belongs to Final Fantasy VI.

3/5

Perhaps VGC could allow reviews of older games but without scores.

It wouldn't hinder VGC's goal of making it on Metacritic if there's no score attributed.

you forgot that the main hero was such a insecure loser that when a guy he admires dies, he commits identity fraud and takes over his life and even tries to steal his girlfriend.
