Gamerzines

THQ and Microsoft have partnered up to release a limited edition Xbox 360 Homefront bundle, GamerZines can reveal.

The bundle, includes a 250GB Xbox 360, one controller and a copy of THQ's upcoming FPS Homefront.

A price and release date for the bundle are yet to be announced, but expect it to go on sale when Homefront launches on March 18th.

It was previously announced that the Xbox 360 version of Homefront would also be receiving time-exclusive DLC.

Homefront follows the story of a US resistance group fighting against the invading North Korean. The game has been penned by John Milius, co-writer and Apocalypse Now and Red Dawn.

I am surprised at the support that this game is receiving from MS, bundling will be sure to boost the sales of the game a bit, but I think MS probably stands to win something too, as this game can be quite a hit in the US.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

The invading army is not North Korea now, it's the Greater Korean Republic - Korea has been reunified, albeit the capital is most likely Pyongyang.

But it was North Korea for a while, before they realised how stupid and unrealistic that was?

I'm wondering what the mass media will do with this title. It could range from not even noticing to completely blowing this game out of proportion to serve an agenda. If it 's the latter I wonder how those out of the know of the video games industry will try to paint MS for supporting a product with such content.

I'm actually intrigued in the SP. If it presents a good human side to the story it could be great. I get a sort of Half Life vibe from what I've seen in the sense that you're going to play a role in this resistance and people might have heard of your triumphs and will react to you as such. But if it just focuses on all our action I think it will just blend in amongst the ocean of other military shooters out there lately.

P.S. I'm not stalking you. I guess you share interest in similar topics to me.

Blatantly stalking me haha. This will definitely be blown out of proportion by the media I think, but at the end of the day, I know of noone in particular who would actually be deterred from buying a game just because media said it's evil, if anything, it'll just put the spotlight on the game itself and provide free advertisement. To an extent I thought that the game looked too generic in it's early stages, but recently I am beginning to come around and contemplating whether to purchase it or not. Definitely not first day buy for me, but an eventual one down the line. I don't know what they'll do to the story that any other FPS already didn't. COD even managed to destroy the international space station.

I guess what's really interesting is the fact that the conflict is based around real countries that one could argue are experiencing tensions of sorts, I really doubt that America are too keen on North Korea, chances are Fox will roll out the propaganda machine and a boatload of redneks will buy it to kill some Japs. (I know I said Japs, but it's the rednecks we're talking about after all). I'd bet that this game will cross at least a million by year's end, especially with the help of those bundles :p

By the way, I don't think I met a game that can parallel the SP FPS experience I had with Half Life :p Except for maybe COD4.

That has got to be the least appealing bundle to date.. imo.  I guarantee MS chose this game to bundle simply because the marketability of the image which is the cover of the game.

seems like a very random game to use for a bundle

I just had a homemade mac-n-cheese lunch with a side of steamed vegies, and I think I over did it on the mac-n-cheese.  I'm gonna be fighting the sleeps this afternoon.

Your input, as usual, is invaluable to this topic.
