Québec > Canada

No I kid! I like to laugh of sovereignists.

But really here in Québec, many people don't even actually speak English. Montréal is an exception of course.

My mom doesn't speak English at all as well as my grandparents.

Ya damn right you're kidding! I hate Quebec. We should just let them separate already and after a year they'll be begging to re-join Canada.

Most people here don't want to seperate from Canada. It's just that the ones who want are the most vocal.

Yah every time their is a vote to seperate the people of Quebec vote not to. Yet the sepratists try again and again to leave Canada. Quebec would not last long as a seperate state, first they do not count for much of the income coming into Canada, no oil , huge forests, minerals. Quebec would need to rely on manufacturing and what little resources they have. Then Quebec would need to invest millions if not billions in creating a new currency, new Government jobs, new embassies and foreign delegations. Quebec would go broke very fast it would also need to start trading with Canada, USA and any other country it could because they would need to import almost everything.

In the end I love Quebec I don't want it to leave Canada, if it did it would really devestate Quebec and I could see it either joining the US or merging back with Canada. Sort of pointless and it would damage both Canada and Quebec.

As for speaking english, don't worry here in BC we all have to learn french in school. But only a few years out of high school and I don't remember shit. I can barely count to twenty let alone carry on a conversation. But being Canadian is more then what language we speak, its deeper then that.

Oh believe me Québec would be very much fine when it comes to its economy. Ever heard of Hydro-Québec?

Hydro-Québec is the largest producer of electricity in Canada and the fourth largest producer of hydroelectricity in the world.

And we have miles of forests.

That's definitely not the part that's worrying me the most about seperating from Canada.

Our plan is to let Quebec separate and then invade it and force you into surrender (should only take a week or so)! Then we will rename it New Ontario and the great nation of Canada will prosper!!! muhuahahaha.

Um... hmm.....

Yes and No.

Yes because cities like Quebec City and Montreal are beautiful and keep a lot of their older buildings, where in Toronto most buildings are torn down or moved.

No because driving in these big cities is ridiculous, especially if you have a low sports car. Montreal has shitty highways and crumbling bridges, QC has coblestone roads, which is nice only a few times.

Yes cause french girls are hot, and it's kind of cool.

No cause I don't speak French.

BTW: I'm Torontonian :P, and now I hate you, you separatist bastard...joking.

I think you missed the bolded part of my post lol

I caught it, just wanted to give my two cents. I make a joke too!

One of northern American states. See what I did here? xD

Did I say black people are bad? I think your racist.

Wow.... your nuts. Those were unrelated points.

I know we have less black people because companies like Loreal don't send over dark coloured cover up because of the significantly lower dark black population, and the crime rate was an unrelated statistic.

Your the one relating black people and murderers.

I blame the American media!

(I was out of line though)

Yes, you're taking advantage of the polysemy of the word "state" to create a comical, possibly inflamatory, post .

I think the weather in Canada is a bit too cold for my taste.

Other than that I think it's a good country. Haven't heard really bad things about it yet.

Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/

Not really.  Canada is just one of the pretty much interchangeable democracies that are stronger in some areas and weaker then others.

So, i tend to not think that much of it... as of yet.  If global warming, global trade collaspses or resource shortages hit it big though, Canada is a great place to move too.

Things I think about when I think of Canada:

Hockey, maple syrup, Brett Hart, Owen Hart, Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, high taxes, Mike Myers, intense cold, The Kids In The Hall, Rush, Bob and Doug MacKenzie, and universal health care.

So what do Canadians think of Alex Trebek?  He was one of your most famous people and he gave up his citizenship to become American.

He stopped being a person when he cut off the 'stache.

RIP Alex Trebek's Moustache.

So the general consensus of Canada that I hear about the world's thoughts on Canada is that we're the "little" peace-loving cousin of America. I've also heard that we're seen as a pretty weird group of people and have even heard views that we seem slow (mentally).

I just wanted to know what the worldwide users of VGChartz think when they hear the world "Canada". What do you think of us? Do you like us? Why/why not? What's your extent of contact with us?

Go!

that's not how i see Canada, i rather see it as the american Europe

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
