Forums - General - What do you think of Canada?

Hmmm I live in the fastest growing city , in the best province of the best country on Earth. Oh Canada our home an.....

But of course I'm gonna be biased and everyone on this site knows of my patriotism and love of all things Canada. However I agree that we really aren't as patriotic as we should be. I go across the border and count like 30 flags within a few kilometres. But here in Canada I don't see any other then the border crossing. Infact other then schools and Government buildings its hard to find a Canadian flag anywhere.

All I really know is things have higher prices there. Magazines... cards... etc.

They also like to critique the US and generally downplay their own problems. From my personal experience of course.

US, but with less fat people, less black people, and more low quality roads riddled with potholes. Also, less patriotism, we don't put flags on our doors and talk about how were the best. We also have much lower crime (Homicide rate in Toronto is about 100 people a year, out of 6 million people. For Manhatthan it's 2,000 people a year out of 8 million people...hmmm...), and we keep our doors unlocked without worry.

Note: I'm Canadian

And appearently racists too.

I have a lot of family in the US, go there all the time.

Also how am I racist? If you go to any rural part of the states, houses are covered with 10 or more american flags, in my family's neighbourhood the least I've seen were two on one house. Obesity rates in the US are 1 in 3, in Canada it's 1 in 10 and in Europe it's even less. I already said why US homicide rates are higher, and do you ever keep your front door unlocked, even if you leave the house?

I'm just stating the facts, and when you go to the Us or Canada, you see these facts come to life. I have never seen a 400lb person before in my life, until I went to McDonalds in Georgia...

Black people are as worse as fat people? And don't think I didn't see what you did with the whole "less black people... We also have much lower crime" thing.

Things I think about when I think of Canada:

Hockey, maple syrup, Brett Hart, Owen Hart, Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, high taxes, Mike Myers, intense cold, The Kids In The Hall, Rush, Bob and Doug MacKenzie, and universal health care.

So what do Canadians think of Alex Trebek?  He was one of your most famous people and he gave up his citizenship to become American.

Ahhh, not a poll. That means I need to type down something :(

Anyway, I've never had contact with a Canadian person before (face to face) of been there. But when I think of Canada I think "Awesome"

May the adjustments be with you

Doesn't he have both Canadian and American citizenship? It's not like he's ashamed of being Canadian, he mentions it often on Jeopardy.

Hmm.  I thought that he gave his Canadian citizenship up but could be mistaken.

All I know is that he's not so smart without those cards.
