Would Konami and Pokemon make Yugioh and Pokemon AR cards for 3DS?

Hell YES 147 73.87%

HELL NO 12 6.03%

IDC(are) 10 5.03%

Children Card Games is serious business 30 15.08%

(AR cards are cards that show 3D images of the cards' content when viewd by the 3DS cameras.)

It would be pretty cool if they did and incoporate it into a 3DS game. It might help those TCGs sell even more but it also might put some people off because they have to rebuy their whole deck in AR cards if they want it to see it in 3D.

And if you didn't know, TCG = Trading Card Game.

First it was the eye toy with Solemn Judgement for PS3 and now its AR cards for the 3DS. Slowly but surely, holographic images of card games' artwork will appear through means of video game consoles. It's only a matter time until we get our very own Duel DiskKaiba Corp TM!

I would kill for a Pokemon TCG game for the 3DS... KILL!!!

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

Of course they will! They can make loads of money with those cards, and they know it.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

They wouldn't even need to make AR cards.  All Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards already have individual numbers identifying them.  For Yu-Gi-Oh, all you need to do in the current games is enter that number to unlock the card in the game.  For a device with a camera, all it would need to do is look at the number and it could use the card itself as the 'AR' card.

Very interesting idea :)

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Hell no! You can purchase a Yu-Gi-Oh! game with ~2,000 cards on cart right now. If Konami implemented AR cards, it'd be like the TCG itself, i.e. spending a fortune to get every card!

Only if they wanted to add bonus cards afterwards, or that all TCG cards from now on are compatible.

Also it's very easy to cheat these things.

Oh God! What I would do for a Pokemon TCG 3 on 3DS...

It'd also be the perfect incentive for TCG players to buy games and gamers to buy the TCG, completely nullifying the reason why the series was probably discontinued in the first place!

I think Nintendo will definatly implement Augmented Reality in future card games. I think that Nintendo might release an AR card series stand alone, then Pokemon cards but don't forget they also made Animal Crossing cards and Nintendogs cards. Nintendo could really make alot of profit with TCG's if this was implemented right. Keep in mind Nintendo brought all their TCG games in house so they don't have to share profit with anyone.

Will Konami do the same with YuGiOh I don't think so. Its a good idea but I can't see them implementing Augmented Reality in their software. Now If Pokemon cards, AG Cards , Animal Crossing cards and Nintendogs cards take off really well then maybe Konami will follow. But I can't see Konami leading the way they will wait to see what Nintendo does first.

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
They could make the pokemon hand-out events partially in form of cards.
Then sell those for massive profit.
