Forums - Sales - Americas Pre-Order Chart Is Up!

Can someone tell me if KZ3 is being advertized in the U.S. or not? I'm in grad school and don't have a TV. Wouldn't mind knowing if it was being advertized in EMEAA, too, but I especially want to know about the U.S. bc of the awful pre order numbers

Killzone 3 continues to look unimpressive.Really looking like a pretty poor launch for an exclusive shooter.

Pokemon is a monster.

Gears of War 3 at number 3 with no launch date and still a long way away. Pretty crazy stuff.

I think Gears 3 will probably rape the other GoW games for FW and lifetime sales....seriously Epic has to really eff things up to make it sell around what the other one's sold.

Yeah I totally agree plus the Beta and everything will bring even more hype to it.  I think 7 million is pretty much guaranteed and while 10 million seems excessive its not out of the question.  I don't personally predict that it'll hit 10 but its certainly possible.

Yeah I would probably put my money on it selling around 8-9 million lifetime.

For that kind of growth over Gears 1 and 2 it'll need a pretty big lift from EMEAA as well as Americas. 3rd game in series expanding by 30-40% needs the whole of the world to come to the party not just the Americas. You think it'll see that sort of expansion in EMEAA? UK sure, AUS/NZ probably, anywhere outside the Anglosphere that's big on Gears? Gears 2 hasn't yet reached Gears 1 sales in EMEAA, so an expansion the magnitude that's necessary for 6.14 million to become 8-9 million is a pretty large expectation to place on the game. Halo 3 expanded on Halo 2 by 35%. And that was a really big deal for what's still the signature franchise of the Xbox brand, and it was the first Halo on the 360 which made it special. I say look to a 20% expansion with Gears 3 (~7.5million) then if it exceeds that significantly everyone will be well pleased.

Creating an expectation of 8-9 million also just provides fodder for the trolls if it doesn't happen, when simply selling the same 6 million for Gears 3 would be great.

My bad I meant if it doesn't really dissapoint like Gears 2 did (many were dissapointed with the MP aspect of it) then I think it will see significant growth. If it doesn't get so well received then I expect it to sell around the same as the other Gears.

Yehh Kz3 preorders are terrible but i think there incoreeectt numbers just sayin
