5pb. Planning PS3 Titles

Longtime Xbox 360 supporter also appears to hint at NGP plans.

According to reports that I don't care to verify, longtime Xbox 360 supporter Chiyomaru Shikura, CEO of publisher 5pb., has pledged his support for PlayStation 3.

Shikura has a Twitcast live channel. During a broadcast earlier today, he apparently said that 5pb. is planning to join up with the PS3. "It is the era of multiplatform," said Shikura. "I want as many people as possible to play."

Shikura also made some comments that could indicate possible support for Sony's new NGP portable, saying that porting PS3 games to the system is quite easy.

5pb. is the publisher of adventure games like Memories Off and the acclaimed "science series" that consists of Steins; Gate and Chaos; Head. The studio has also been branching off into other fields, with the original 2D bullet hell shooter Bullet Souls and 2D fighting game Phantom Breaker. In terms of game consoles, the publisher chiefly supports Xbox 360. However, versions of its adventure games are also released on PSP and iOS.

Two of Chiyomaru's upcoming titles, new science adventure series entry Robotics;notes and a mysterious tie-up project with Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and Grasshopper Manufacturer's Suda 51 are currently platform TBA.

If you just love Chiyomaru's boy bandish looks, you can see his live broadcasts here (as of this writing at 4:44, he's currently broadcasting).

I wondered who they were as first as well.  I did a Wiki to find their games more Japanese in style.  Since I'm more interested in Japanese style games, I found this news welcoming since the Xbox 360 versions have not made it to the United States.  So maybe the PS3 versions of his games will come out stateside.  We'll just have to wait and see.

SHMUPS, Adventures, and Visual Novels. I'm happy to hear JUST becuase the PS3 is region free. I long desired some of their games, especially since I'm trying to get into visual novels ATM. Japan is mostly hell-bent on locking their 360 titles.

Edit: Ha, phantom breaker is their work? Didn't know that.

You're sure? I can't find any good lists for the 360's region free games. That is hella nice though, still can't decide where I'm gonna buy my 360 from - Japan or USA.
