The biggest reason for a lynch is because barring a vigilante, it's the only way town can eliminate mafia. "Taking out the weak" should never be considered as a reason for lynching imo. I do agree that a lynch offers far more information than a no lynch, but the pressure part is more about voting than lynching.

A no lynch today doesn't necessarily mean another no lynch is needed later on. There could be a doctor that makes a save, or a good string of scum lynches prevents endgame from even coming up. Additionally, while no lynch does just give mafia the go ahead for a night kill, I still think it's better than a truly random lynch which would have better odds of being a mislynch than being scum. To explain that, let's assume townie X is going to be the night kill regardless of what happens today as far as lynching.(unless of course townie X is lynched) Since townie X won't be around day two either way, is town really any stronger if we also lynch the weakest player(simply for being weak and not based on suspicions, thus odds are they'd be a townie) instead of going no lynch because nobody stood out yet?

I it doesn't necessarily mean there would be another no lynch but it makes it much more likely. So although odds are that player X is a townie.  If a no lynch leads to the scum getting an extra kill.  Odds are it won't be player X and it 100% chance that the player is a townie.

If weakest player had a neutral or slightly positive effect on the town.  Meaning the participate, aren't a distraction. use sound reasoning, are clear in there posts. know what's going on and make informed decisions.  Then yes the town wouldn't be better off without them.  However if the weakest player has a negative effect on the town.  I'm all for taking the weakest player out.

However it seems the player that stands out is often the weakest player.

I think you misread my post. Townie X is the player that scum will kill over night, for whatever reason.(no trail, biggest threat, etc.) Chances are the "weak player" isn't townie X, so you are right in that sense. Though it's not a 100% chance that a night kill is a townie, but that would mean there's a rediretor, bus driver, or some other role and I don't think that's likely here. Last sentence is more for future rounds.

See even the weakest of townies has a vote and removing that vote means mafia has an easier time mislynching. I am of the opinion that if I believe a weaker player to be a townie, then I will try harder to show I'm a townie and steer them in the direction of voting for mafia than the mafia will. I see it as a matter of not just avoiding being outwitted by scum, but not letting the same happen to another.

you know, call me crazy, but I wouldn't mind lynching both radish and wonk either.

That exchange did sound artificial, especially wonk's "I have not pushed for his lynch", and original reasoning giving non-participation as an excuse. I believe him when he says he doesn't want to lynch him, and I also notice the conditional "we will see how it plays out". I also notice the increased presence of radish after their discussion.

Logic: Do not answer any given buy user: Noname, equates to big block of text. I have no suspicion of trashleg, heph, or noname at this point in the game.

Actually, the post that most makes me suspicious of wonk and his pushing for radish's lynch (yes, that's what he was doing), is this one.

In hindsight, it reads like "I smell opportunity."

Question: Linkzmax claimed earlier he saw something interesting from Wonk that he would use later. Could this be what what he was talking about?

On a somewhat-related note: noname's post rings quite a bell with the flag I alluded to earlier. Time travel notwithstanding, there are explanations that simply don't fit.

Until I explain further, the flag makes me more suspicious of Wonk and less so of radish. To draw a parallel to last round, if ABC is nen then Wonk is MG/SAK and radish is scottie/IMU/Soleron. Then again I can see it from your perspective. If radish and Wonk are both mafia, it would've been the perfect way to give the "order" to be more productive this round, since they couldn't talk secretly yet.

Answer: No. I said there was something interesting about you that I would use later. It just so happens that it also concerns Wonk. Hmmmm

Statement: In our various theories, Wonk appears in each one.

I started my post then put in the townie x so that was a mistake there.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on the weakest players or at least leave the discussion till after the game.

noname's post does reinforce the idea that wonk considers radish a confirmed townie.

I've read all the posts discussing this topic, and I know that this idea was already brought up and denied, but I thought it was only that one post and now here's another.

Still...I don't trust radish.
