How is day 1 the best time to interrogate players? It's the day where there is barely any information to go on - surely the later days would be a better time to do that. I think it's important that we continue asking players questions if there's anything that we're uncertain of.

while I've already answered this in a post above, day 1 is the best time to interrogate players because mafia haven't had a chance to coordinate yet. None of the mafia have any indication of who is the most important targets, and a lot of the time, inexperienced mafia don't know what to do. Lurking is a scum trait on day 1 especially. I'm pretty confident that there are no scum votes on ABC. He could be mafia himself, but the point is that scum are very careful on day 1.

Just look back to mafia quicktopics from past games. Nobody is on the same page about who to lynch until a consensus is made on who to try and lynch and who not to for the next couple days. One person will be like, "we have to kill X, he's a major threat!", then it will be countered by, "no, that player will be lynched on his own. There is no reason to waste a kill on them". etc etc.

To put it more succinctly, day 1 is the only time where mafia tend to communicate within the thread during the day. Every other time, they are more or less autonomous. But on day 1, we either see,

a)
mafia 1) X should or shouldn't be lynched, I think we should be careful today as blah blah blah
mafia 2) (ok, so I should avoid that player, but even so, I think he should/shouldn't be lynched so I'll put an FoS or a defense on him)

b)
no comments on lynching by most mafia, try to wait it out until night

What I don't get is why some people act like it is a bad thing he played on another site, somehow it feels like the people just want to see his games and then analyse his behaviour, which isn't such a bad thing, but if he just don't want people looking at his games, why should we bother further. Now, to the main point:

While I am suspicious of ABC I think its not the right time to put to much focus on him yet, we should wait for trangent and his observations, then try to discuss further and then we still can focus on him again. I just mean we should keep our eyes open and not only on him...

For the first paragraph, I don't think anyone's so much as implied that it's a bad thing that he played elsewhere.  Personally speaking, though, I find it an interesting claim for a few reasons.

First, his description of SFB as someone who "[w]e usually lynch...round one because he never comes back on and delays the game" does not mesh with my own evaluation of SFB's performance on this site.  After all, SFB has created at least two alts to keep playing mafia on this forum, and I don't recall him disappearing from any game I've played with him.  From this, I think we can infer that ABC is either 1) lazy when it comes to observation, 2) prone to exaggeration, or 3) lying.  I don't see the point behind #3, but the others are useful in gauging ABC.

Second, and more importantly, it tells us that he should be fully familiar with how forum mafia is played: after all, according to him he's played several games of mafia already.  If so, why would he ever have believed that my vote on him was permanent?  He used this to justify almost voting me at one point, if you recall, and this despite my having earlier voted for Stefl, and despite initially treating my vote as a joke.  Has anyone ever heard of any game of mafia, forum or otherwise, where you're not allowed to change your vote?  Because I have not.  Additionally, he's repeatedly been prepared to jump on people who've been absent for more than an hour, or who quote him when he's asleep.  This is not something I'd expect from someone who's played before, especially someone who's played with the oft-absent c03n3nj0, so why is he making such a point of it now that some people were giving him a closer look?

As for your second paragraph, I admit I'm a bit surprised.  I see the value in not getting tunnel vision on a single player, of course, but why did you prefer to have us all stop interrogating ABC and instead wait for trangentspree?

so you want us to get mafia talking more today and see if they change how they talk latter in the game?

Otherwise you'll get a lot of false leads on day 1 since most players can only talk in the thread.

I wasn't leaning town with him I was actually neutral.

Two rounds ago was two rounds ago many things have changed since then, mostly me.  I find the transformation interesting myself.  I'd be happy to tell you how the last two games have changed my perception.  Although maybe not too much during the game since I does go a bit deeper into the last two games and I don't think that would be fair to those who weren't in them.  I feel my attitute towards radish pushes that too far as it is.

Go on, I'm interested in hearing this, especially since you're now pushing for a lynch on someone you don't really suspect yourself.

There isn't going to be cliff notes.
If you aren't sure of what someone means ask them.  If you are sure then why would you need a summary?  Reading the thread isn't what makes people jump on you. It's what you say.
