linkz, that was well played.

If it wasn't for stefl, there's a good chance you would've made it.

Round 25, Day 4: Shortest day in VGC Mafia history?

Probably.  Alternatively, it only begins to make up for the super-slow beginning...

This is where it gets difficult, for sure.

Not really, it's actually a pretty straightforward logic puzzle, IMO.

First, I'd like Truck to confirm, here and/or on the first page that ABC was scum, as the flavor indicates.

Second, we decide if we believe trash is the cop.  No one has counterclaimed; neither you nor I was online yesterday, but I'm willing to state now that I am not the cop, and you haven't jumped to do so yet, so there is no counterclaim.  It appears ABC was scum, as trash claimed yesterday.  There are three possibilities: she really is the cop, she's scum who claimed cop and sacrificed a scumbuddy, or she's a townie who false-claimed to save herself from the threat of a lynch.  We can remove the second two possibilities, since Linkz has claimed Miller, a role which is pointless without a cop.

Unless they're in cahoots, and there are therefore four scum in a eleven-player game, she is the cop after all.  Since three scum is already pushing it in a vanilla game (which we seem to have) of this size, I'm confident there are not four scum.

Finally, there are five players remaining: you, me, trash, prof, and linkz.  Trash is clear.  She has also cleared prof, which is why I'm willing to abandon my crusade against him (this is doubly true since he's admitted that the gambit was, in fact, stupid, and please keep your word about learning your lesson prof00).  I know I'm not scum, although you're free to decide on that yourself.  Trash presumably investigated someone else as well, which hopefully wasn't heph.  In any case, for me, that leaves you and Linkz.

I question how likely it is that a game which apparently only has two pro-town power roles would have more than the recommended proportion of scum-to-town (3:1) AND a Miller.  That's a deck that's rather stacked too heavily against the town for me to think Truck formed such a game. Linkz has claimed Miller, and at what struck me as an odd time to do so.  Additionally, he also opposed my attempt to get ABC to roleclaim day one, something which I hope we can all now agree we should have done when I pushed for it.  Furthermore, heph was the most vocal skeptic about the Miller claim, and now he is dead.

You've been your usual self this game, which is to say that you've mostly stayed out of the limelight when possible and that you've lied to make yourself look better.  Normally the latter would damn you in my eyes, but as far as I can tell that's just you being you so, like I did in our first game together, I'm going to go with my gut on you, which says you're not scum.  For the record though, that's not a good reputation to have, and I really hope you strive more to improve your game.

So, for me, I'm fairly confident that the last scum is Linkz.  I admit to being surprised that trash is still alive, but then again it makes a certain sense if Linkz is the last scum, since he's already established that he's  going to scan Guilty, so why not pick off others in the meantime?  Moreover, trash is in fact the cop, unless more than a third of the players are scum.  Ergo

Vote: Linkzmax

trash had to be the cop. If she was faking it, then a counterclaim from you or radish would've meant a town win either today or tomorrow guaranteed.

It's funny that you don't want to play follow the cop, but you doubt a setup that would penalize that type of play.

For future reference, when is the right time to truthfully claim Miller? I opposed ABC claiming day one, because it really wouldn't have been the best thing if he were town. It just so happens he was horrible scum.

I chose not to kill trash because that is absolutely the last thing I would've wanted as scum. Keeping the cop alive risks scanning more players innocent, and if I hadn't correctly guessed she would scan Heph then there would be two "confirmed" townies tomorrow and me at best. I already denied the chance there'd be a godfather on top of a miller.

And yes, there was absolutely no way there could be 4 scum, simply by virtue of a quicklynch would've occured day two.

I've never been in that situation, but I'd mention it before any investigations were called on you - like you did. There's nothing scummier than "X is Mafia", "Nah, I'm miller"

Observations as I'm reading them (Sorry for lack of quotes, I'm trying to do maths HW atm, and this is primarily for my own use anyway):

P1-5) General banter / jokes. Nothing interesting going on here.

P7) Both Stef and Linkz are making attempts at FoSing ABC etc. fits in with the general town attitude at the time.

P8-12) Wonk vs Radish argument - Linkz generally sides with radish. ....wow this goes on for a while.

13) ABC Wonk vs Radish

14) Linkz dismisses ABC as a "distracting townie".

Rest of the topic: If Linkz is the last Mafia, he did a good job of blending in with the rest of the town. I notice that he sides with me quite a lot in the early game, possibly to gain my trust for the potential 2v1 endgame-death-vote. He was often saying that ABC's playstyle is distracting - this could be seen as a hint to improve his game to improve their chances of winning.

I really hope you step your game up. I didn't side with you, ever. I shot down Wonk's idea, and honestly do believe it wasn't a good one, although certainly better than what did happen.(as far as town goes) If anything I was pointing out all of your mistakes in hopes of making you a mislynch down the line.

Linkz was pretty much on his own. I noticed that he was having to shout at ABC a lot, to try and keep him in line.

Hey Linkz - was the "robot" your idea?

Yeah, Stefl disappearing pretty much ruined it, and I knew ABC was going to be lynched soon after. I told Stefl in the mafia thread(my permission is granted, if others don't want to share I'll just copy and paste my posts) to keep up the lurking, but he took it too far. lol

Night two, I gave ABC a well-thought(at least I believe it was, you guys can decided on it yourselves) cop fakeclaim. It probably could've gotten trash lynched yesterday even though it would've meant his death today. Still 2v1 is better odds than 4v1. I cannot stress how much facepalming I did while reading through the posts yesterday.

ABC came up with the robot on day one. We didn't do any talking until night one, or I'd have probably told Stefl to cool it a bit.
