I've noticed Prof keeps switching from "not mafia just a confused townie" to "probably mafia" when interrogating players, have you noticed this?

Oh yes, and vice-versa.  But I've played a few games with him, all of which he was town (I think: he was recruited by the cult once, but I believe that was only for a day before his death), and it's something he's always done, so I don't read too much into it. 

I did find a strange claim he made to trash where he said that he had been lynched for acting scummy, something I don't remember ever happening (him getting lynched, that is), but I haven't played in every game he's been in.  Will ask about that later.

Okay, I've gone through the conversation a few times, and I can see a plausible rationale behind the statement, but I'd like to hear it from him rather than put words in his mouth.  I'd also like trash and prof in particular to give me their thoughts and impressions.

Understood, and thank you.  On an unrelated note, you were part of the conversation we're looking at.  What're your impressions on why ff would have brought up stefl as mafia?  Do you think he was joking about all three of you?  Do you think he was being somewhat serious?  Was bringing up stefl something that felt natural at the time?

i think FF is the only one who can answer your question, noname. people are gonna be suspicious of other people and i totally get it if FF just happened to be pointing the finger at me. but honestly, i think it was just a fluke or something.

with the eergence of stefl, i am now confident that i know the identity of 2 aliens. and tomorrow. i will attempt to uncover the third. its sleep time.

Indeed, this post was not meant entirely seriously.  However there was a logic behind it.  It refers to posts here and here. 

If (as I alleged) innocent people would not have nearly as much motive as mafia to examine the night post for clues, that would mean the 6 people who professed ignorance were more likely innocent -- so I named the remaining 3 people as mafia. 

"xxx confirmed" is a VGC mafia in-joke denoting that the statement in question is anything but confirmed.

Also, I think you're kind of overreacting to the cop thing.  No Lynching is the best action regardless of the cop, and it's not like we are just going to pretend we don't have the possibility of getting that information.  It doesn't mean we're going to let not having that information yet paralyze the town.
