agree with happysquirrel. nintendo already has this gen rapped up and will use the momentum and money from this gen to create an second generatoin motion control powerful hd-ready console once hd is actually being adopted by enough people to make it matter.



end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million,  360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million

how could you guys not remember the sega game gear? it was 4 times as powerful as the gameboy but still lost by a landslide!

Atari Lynx-16 bit processor color display

Game Gear- Color Display Master System graphics

Turbo Express-Portable Turbo Graphix full color display plus TV tuner

Sega Nomad - portable Genesis

Neo geo Pocket- popular in Korea and Asia

Wonderswan- popular in asia

There have been alot of handhelds that came and are gone all were technically better

With Nintendo their user base halfed in the n64 gen and then halfed again in the gc gen. If this happened to sony, losing half their user base two gens in a row, would they be able to survive? Nintendo did because of loyal fan base that will always buy a nintendo for the first party game, which are arguably some of the best games released each gen. I cant seen sony coming back from such beatings, let alone becoming the dominate number one again.

There still isn't...  Nintendo is kicking Sony's butt from one end of the handhelds to the other...   DS 1.4 Million this week without Japan...  PSP .5 million without Japan...  And PSP recently got a redesign...  Not good...
