I see that based on these numbers, the 360 looks like it is taking over the market!!    :D

So, do people still think TLS had shortages?

Indeed! Hard to believe there was a shortage in the first place... This must have been part of a clever scheme to keep the hype around the game. But the harsh reality is here : TLS sales don't live up to expectations. Sakaguchi can prepare his bagpack... or pay a visit to Sony!

Blue Dragon sold about 200k in the end. I am basing it off mistwalker games. (Given blue dragon did have a spike randomly. (the ten week total has to be above 167k)

oh come on, you can't just do that - Blue Dragon profited heavily in Japan from being made with the wildly popular Toriyama style design

IF the legs don't keep up OR if the WW sales impress compared to expenses...this could be the Last Story for Sakaguchi..for a while at least

Dunno bout legs. The week 2 drop for the game is worse than any of sakaguchi's last game. It has online so that means it might result in less people selling copies into the used market, but who knows WKC had online too and it didn't show legs.

Ninokuni (PS3) ...if this doesn't sell over 500K in Japan then its officially over for a new IP JRPG in Japan this generation to be a success.

Dunno if we can classify Ninokuni (DS) a big success yet.

Well I would never want any game to be Sakaguchi's last, so I can't appreciate a pun like that.

I have no idea about price drop. I guess a price drop kinda helped Ninokuni (DS) which is overshipped ATM.

But we'll have to see how the legs pan out next week and the following week. We also need to know how of TLS shipments have been sold, if its like 80% I doubt we'll see price cuts.

I think they have to localize, I highly doubt that this game has made even a penny of profit with these sales, so in order to make a profit TLS MUST be localized...if anything I believe these sales guarantee a western release.

This makes me wonder if Xenoblade profited too, its worse in graphics than TLS and had virtually no marketing in Japan while TLS had huge marketing. I think xenoblade might've squeezed a profit.

It is very painful for me to say that The Last Story has bombed, but unfortunately it is true, absolutely terrible second week drop.

White Knight Chronicles franchise is already dead and please Bamco let Dragon Ball rest in pace.

How is WKC dead in Japan?

:P it was all in good humor, I hope the guy keeps going too

and yea I was thinking of Ninokuni DS, when I mentioned price cut too
was TLS marketed heavily? I know they hada conference and all so I guess yeah?

I hope Ni No Kuni PS3 does better, way better....that game is looking amazing

wonder if VC3 will come directly as a NGP title to the west..do you think considering how low costs are for psp development in comparison, that game will make a profit?

Yeah TLS was marketed a lot, you had famous Japanese people in commercials, the conference itself, then you had huge marketing in stores. It wasn't marketing on DQ/FF level...but definetely marketing on a level above most JRPG's.

Yeah Ninokuni PS3 is looking amazing but TLS has broken my faith in a new IP JRPG selling a lot in Japan. WKC could have been a new great franchise, but the games simply weren't that good, Level-5 really had something special thetre and while WKC hasn't died like Bruno said, its definetely a big missed opportunity at making a big new RPG franchise. Ninokuni is another chance at that, lets see what happens.

That would be good for VC3, it would actually sell then. FF Type-0 should get the same treatment. In NPD MGS:PW, KH:BBS all sold below 300K...what hope does FF Type-0 have of doing well in the West on the PSP, I wish for a quick switch to NGP, pray for it actually.

I think VC3 should make a profit, I mean surely VC2's engine dev costs are gone for VC3 and it wasn't heavily marketed...I mean VC3 might just need 200K or something to make a profit.
