agreed with OP.

If Nintendo remakes Metroid Prime for their next console then I'm in as hell.

What about Super Castlevania IV, wasn't that a remake of the NES original?

Yep.  Castlevania Chronicles was also a port of the CV1 remake for X68000, so CV1's actually had 2 complete remakes already.

People tend to forget, but Star Fox 64 was also a complete remake of Star Fox 1 and not actually a sequel.

Judging from the NGP's Specs, we will see it on the NGP.

3DS will (Should) get FFV and FFVI. NGP should get VII, VII and IX.

Although in my opinion, the only one of all of them that actually NEED the Remake, is VII.

If they remake Final Fantasy 6, 7 and 8, they would satisfy about 99% of longtime FF fans. It won't happen though =(

I just want 6 and 7 myself. I haven't bought an SE game in a while, but I'd get those day 1.

FFV and FFVI on 3DS are pretty much guaranteed at this point, FFV would've probably already been on DS had FF Gaiden not flopped and piracy not exploded the past 2 years on the system.

FFVII-IX are iffier, and considering the budgets likely involved I think they'd be multiplatform if they happened.  FFVII especially, it'd sort of demand a budget/scale on par with a new mainline HD FF or the fanbase would revolt, and I don't think NGP alone could really shoulder that financially.  I could see VIII/IX being done on a cheaper scale though (and thus sustained on NGP alone, or even on 3DS alone instead).  More likely with VIII-IX though is enhanced ports (like I&II/IV-VI GBA) than complete overhauled remakes though (like III-IV DS).

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

Anyway, remakes I'd like to see in the next few years...

Dragon Quest VII (Wii) Square Enix / Genius Sonority / 8ing (using DQMBRV engine/assets)

Metroid II (3DS) Nintendo / Team Ninja (using MOM engine/assets)

Mother 3 (3DS) Nintendo / Brownie Brown (using Fantasy Life engine)

Ogre Battle 64 (3DS) Square Enix (complete remake a la Tactics Ogre PSP)

Panzer Dragoon (Wii) SEGA / Grounding / AQ Interactive (using TLS/REDSC engine)

Yeah, but I don't want FF6 on the 3DS, I want FF6 in HD =)

Then you'll probably have to wait until 3DS is fully emulated and play it on your PC.  :P

Metroid: Zero Mission was a remake. And it was awesome. Remakes were all the rage last gen.
