PC should be on the list and console should be replaced by platform.

Pc is a first generation it has just lasted outstandingly.

There is one issue though, most people have a pc, not most people have a console. This is why this subject imo holds more weight.

if anything PC generations should be based of DirectX or OpenGL codex releases. So lets say its either generation 4.1 (OpenGL) or Generation 11 (DirectX) soon Generation 12 with the release of Windows 8.

If you were to buy a console now. Why bother with the old if you have better new

Still, consider the gen as a whole (old new future, 1rst & 3rd party) nothing changes

I agree with that, but pc's are not in the poll

I chose only the ps3 this gen and have never regretted it. It is last place and will remain last but it's been the best console for me no doubt about that.

In a sadistic way, it's actually been better that sony stayed last (from a gamer perspective) because they've tried harder this gen than any other gen previously IMO. Just look at how many exclusives Sony itself publishes nowadays. They even brought stuff like Demon's Souls over which was definitely a gamble.

Bluray, free online gaming, lots of awesome exclusive games (the 360 is lacking that), great third party support (the Wii is lacking that)
