My brother(technically half-brother) grew up with his mother, and he wasn't an active part of my life until about 2 years ago. Now he's over at my place about once or twice a month. As we were brought up in two completely homes, you can imagine that our gaming experiences are very different. For instance; he had a PS1 and N64 as I had a N64 and, he had a DC, PS2 and GC while I had a DC and GC. If you're seeing a trend, you can see that he's a fan of Playstation.
He has said in several occasions, "Sony has the best" and "Sony is amazing." Despite this, he didn't get a PS3 until about a week ago. Before that, we have played several games on my 360 and my Wii. He never displayed an interest in getting either a 360 or Wii. He hasn't had the time to play games like I've had.
I have to say though, he doesn't seem to know much about this gen. He was actually surprised to see Sonic '06 on 360. In his words, "Shouldn't Sonic be on Wii and Nintendo consoles?" I replied "Sonic's pretty much on everything with a screen these days." He then murmured "I thought Wii was the family and kids console and the 360 was the console for teenagers to blow stuff up."
That had me thinking, should I inform him more in the workings and history of this gen? Should I let him learn himself? He seems to still think of things in a very 6th gen way. He thinks Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell fanbases are at war and that the PS3 is heavily superior to the 360. He's also a very vocal Final Fantasy, King of Fighters and Need for Speed fan. I'm afraid he just might get KoFXII or NFS:MW and be disappointed. Help please.
Pixel Art can be fun.
