I'm a big gaming nerd, I'll admit.  Still, the day I bought God of War Collection from Gamestop, some military guy walked up to me and started talking about how nobody plays games more than him, which games he liked more than others, about Pokemon (!), and about Indiana Jones and Avatar (!?).  I humored him with conversation but I thought to myself, "I hope to God I've never been this annoying."

Games are cool but like anything else, a little too much knowledge about a subject makes you appear a bit geeky.  Sports, comic books, cars, anime, or whatever.  When you first approach someone, you have to introduce your interests in moderation.

exactly, when I talk to my friends they're like you can't put a comment on ps3 and I say yea but if I went hardcore I would say a bunch of other crap.

Games too

I think your reaction was a little... "crazy video game guy".

Hehe... the only time I start discussion in stores is when parents buy there 12 year olds games like CoD... I tell them that there are games their kids would enjoy even if they don't kill people in it. Most parents even reconsider buying the game, because they just did not know that the main theme of the game was killing...

Sadly I was visiting my cousin lately, and her son played super scribblenauts... only interessted in killing people... i then tried to show him other things to do with his game... and stangly enough he had more fun diging holes then killing people... I was quite satisfied...

Also I know how you must have felt in that store, I feel like that sometimes too, but I never started a discussion with people disliking good games. ;P

Seriosuly? There's a military guy with guns on the cover, and an 18 sign on the lower left corner, and they can't figure out that there's violence and killing in the game?

I just can imagine the laughs those guys had after they left the store. When I am imagining that situation, it makes me laugh. :D

A small guy (80kg tops) with long black hair sees someone disrespecting his thing and gets a disney-movie moment, stands up to the evil guys thinking that they would respect him for being so brave, gets a real response (they don't care about your opinion) and comes up with the best insult he can (your mother!). Priceless.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooow Why would you take a comment like that seriously. This site is starting to amuse me. Well done for taking a comment by someone so literally (Just like you maybe would on a forum :p) .

Sadly... yes, because they are not interested in the games their kids play, or they just ignore the content until it gets pointed out by someone.
