im gonna switch gears here and take a break from crying about my fave games bombing, and talk about some games that did the opposite and took me by surprise. First up Tekken Dark Ressurection for PSP. How this game sold more than 2 mil i cant even begin to fathom. Im not saying that it shouldnt have done this or should bomb, but all circumstances show that if any game would have bombed it would have been this. Oh sure its a very smooth running game for being a PSP game, and sure it was an "enchaned" port with two extra characters. But it was just Super Tekken 5 at the end of the day. I dont think its crazy to believe that at this time anyone with a PSP had a damn PS2 and they were one of those 3 mil+ owners of Tekken 5. Theres no way these are new buyers of the game. Are Tekken fans that hungry that they were buying the same game just to play on the train. I love Tekken as much as the next guy, and I do think 5 was the best in the series. but lord!

Eventually after several friends told me I was missing out, i broke down and bought it. It was a greatest hits title and we were being deployed to Iraq and a some of them got PSPs cause it wasnt like we were gonna carry our PS2s, and trust me we put the game to good use. Maybe it was the lure of seeing an actual bonafide 3d fighter on a portable that drew people in(unlike say Tekken Advance) whatever it was the success didnt carry over to TEkken 6 or Soul Calibur BD

Tekken DR is my most played game in PSP. It's awesome and IMO better Tekken 6 Portable...

The fun thing is that when i went back to play in my PS2 I HATED IT! You don't have the same feeling...

I think that Tekken is the ultimate portable experience. I don't like when a Sony hater says that PSP have only console-ports. Even if this is true, there are a lot of console-ports that can have still a different or even better experience on the go.

Tekken DR is imo the best handheld fighter ever made. Great controls, visuals and content (two new characters compared to the console versions)

This is by far my most played game....ever. On consoles AND handhelds.

Tekken 6 PSP and Soul Calbiur BD came when the psp began it's decline. And Both games wasn't as well recived as DR. I personally think overall Tekken 5 DR was the better game. The extra characters (they were both GOOD characters too) and the minigames like Tekken Bowling made the portable version really awesome. That's what was lacking in those other two games you mentioned.

I honestly can't wait for Tekken Tag 2 to come to NGP. The series plays really well on the portable. (hey who knows maybe Blazblue won't be such a pain to play with the analog on the NGP either)

I really wonder how well Tekken 6 would have done had it released when the PS3 version was finished....

I think it lacked that additional content to make it worth it or be appealing to others. I picked it up and loved it on the ps3 AND psp. But I was a bit disappointed that psp version didn't have any extra content like the bowling game or extra characters or anything.

I agree with what just about what everyone said. but still like tekken 5 on PS2, it came with Tekken 1-3 and that whole Jin side story was actually decent (hell of alot better than that crappy scenario mode), but yeah Tekken Bowling is great, you really cant go wrong with that. and whats this about Tag 2 on PSp2, where that come from???

Beautiful magnificent game. One of my favorites on PSP. IT was one of the few games that I would randomly meet people outside and start playing against them if they had it or with the ghost sharing feature. I'm not surprised at all that it sold so well, great games have great legs sometimes.
