Do you think he will be able to get some of the XBOX 360 exclusives on the PS3.? if so which one you think are the most probable.?

Secondly wasn't Haze from the start a PS3 game.? Konami and Square both doesn't look too strong with Playstation as i don't see any other games from them apart from MGS and FF coming abroad on PS3. yup he manages to keep them committed to the exlusiveness on these two games which should itself is a good thing but i don't see him achieving any more from them.

He has done pretty good...He definately has turned the Sony ship around.

I think the PS3 has been improving since launch with adding/improving it's available features and such, games are coming out that are pretty cool. For example, I'm playing through Uncharted right now and it's awesome.

I don't remember all the articles and such, but I think once they got Kutagari out of there (I recall them trying to strongarm him), they've slowly been turning themselves around. Also, now that they're using a new advertising agency, they're TV ads finally make sense and are conveying the PS3 as a consumer product rather than creep the hell out of people.

Hard to say, I believe the only difference is the PS3 is now available for $399 wheras last year, it wasnt. I remember very clearly, that in Oct, before the price cuts and holiday season, it did very very poorly. Then immidiately after the price cuts, they did very very well with over night spikes in sales. I think that was the only difference, so I dont give Kaz the credit.

Regardless where he's from his responsibility is first and foremost Japan. However you can clearly see that he has made changes in strategy in other regions. Kaz is the head of the SCEI department, anything business related must ultimately be decided him.

Kutaragi already fucked up the PS3, when he started going into new direction distancing himself from what defines the console. He made scandalous lines that really drew the consumers away from the console. Plus he became so self-obssesed and self-centered that in the end he started to ignore 3rd party developers, for instance Ubisoft wanted to propose exclusivity of Assassins Creed but the man didn't care, he obviously thought that 3rd party developers were depended on him and Sony's computer entertainment division.

The european branch has done an execellent job advertising the PS3 every. The SCEE chief does make some ridiculous headlines at times, but it looks like he's doing a good job planting the PS3 brand into Europe. Something tells me that in the US Microsoft is doing better before its their home territory, and they probably understand the empathy of the people & gamers living.

To your exclisivity arguement; Kaz has gotten the PS3 these: Ryu Ga Gotoku: Kenzan, Naruto PS3 Project, Valkyrie of the battlefield, Ni-Oh, etc. etc..... remember when they said the Final Fantasy exclusivity was up in the air? - due to Kutaragi's lack of ability to communicate? - yeah, he finally firmly nailed it on the PS3.  

Im not saying Kaz is the best, however he's done much better than Kutaragi has done the 2 previous years.

As a PS3 supporter I got to say I believe the US is already a lost field. But thanks to the change of management I believe the PS3 will become the ultimate winner in Europe.

 Haze was originally set on the 360 and PC as well as the PS3, so either MS not talking or Sony persuading free radical made it an exclusive, either way it can only say good things about Kaz I suppose.

Also, to rukusa, the advertisements in the Europe are terrible compared to the recent american adverts, Ive no idea how the PS3 is doing so well over here. UK adverts dont show any games, just some idiot in red prancing around with a poodle, its ridiculous. 

I wasn't talking about the quality of the adds, more about the constant stream of commercial.

Also another deal to add to Kaz's great accomplishments letting go of the people who made those "this is living" campaign. The american add is awesome. Now THATS what they should be airing here in Europe.

All in all pretty good. As I recall more than a few people here were predicting the imminent demise of the ps3 just a couple of months ago and how it was at the very least going to be obliterated by the 360 in holiday sales. Neither of those things have materialized and although the ps3 is still behind it has come back from the brink and doing great in one region while doing ok in the other two.

And for this, some of the credit definately needs to go to Kaz.

As I'v said Hirai is just a Stringer yes man. And the ps3 to me is treading water at best. The original team that made the ps1 and ps2 have gone (amazing dont you think how Stringers spun this as a good thing?). All I'v seen since the new outfits took charge is Stringer/Hirai desperately dropping the price. There's no vision or plan to turn things around at all. Unless there's lots we're not being told. I expect next year to be more of the same.

Sony is fucking stupid for abusing the PS image. If youre right then its obviously because the current team are business oriented. The focus on games is lost, fuck. Sony, you keep making the wrong choices time after time, after time, I fucking hope 2008 will make them fucking fight for the life of the PS brand.
