pixar is good but it seems as if they are loosing some of their creativity (cars 2?) I understand monsters inc 2 or even incredibles 2 but cars 2? cars was probably their worst movies. Who made polar express? that movie had really good effects as well

I know WTF is up with Cars 2 *bleh* defiantly the least deserving Pixar sequel..

as for the Polar Express mainly the now defunct ImageMovers Digital who were also responsible for Monster House, Beowulf and the movies that probably killed them A Christmas Carol and Real Steel.

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

I think that Weta is best. Avatar , Lord Of the Rings... you couldn't always tell what was CG and what wasn't. However Pixar and DreamWorks aren't aiming for ultra realism their aiming to produce cartoons, as such its hard to say they are inferior. Of the two I think Pixar has made flops I don't like and so has DreamWorks I think both of them are about as equal as it possibly gets. All three are great companies and all three are the best in their respective markets!

I'm gonna go with Weta, at least in terms of animation, graphics and special effects. They just seem to keep improving and making some amazing special effects: Lord of the Rings, King Kong, Avatar.

Considerring the thread title asks for graphics rather than movie quality I think it has to be Weta. Realistic/pseudo-realistic graphics = much harder than cartoon graphics.

In terms of graphics Pixar wins. What they do better than the others is charater animation imo, especially Ratatouille is impressive for this.

If it were anyone else I would agree, but it's Pixar.  EVERYONE said the same thing when Toy Story 2 was announced and EVERYONE said the same thing again when Toy Story 3 was announced.  What ended up happening is we got two of the better movies in the last 10 or so years.

Cars is my least favorite Pixar movie too, but it's still really good.  I'm pretty confident Pixar can do good things with it.

And remember, they have an original movie in the words too.

-edit-

And I'm not saying Pixar will always make good movies, their run will eventually end, I'm just saying I will gladly give them the benefit of the doubt.

20 years ago I would have laughed at you if you hinted that Disney would be the embarrassment it is today (and I realize the irony that Disney owns Pixar) but now I can't even tell you what the last big Disney animated movie was because they've been bad for the last 10 years.  Pixar's time will eventually end, I'm just going to continue to assume they're incredible until I'm shown otherwise.

Graphics? Weta, easy.

But Weta doesn't make movies really, they're a special effects house. But in terms of pure graphics Wetas work is state of the art.
