The only thing I can come up with is that they are simply reporting the "The Last Story sold its initial shipment first day" news but they got the figure completely wrong.

Iwata said that the games sales had been "not bad," and although he can be pretty modest and understating about such things, I doubt even he would refer to 400 000 sold on the first day as merely "not bad." (Although admittedly something can always be lost in a translation.)

This game would definitely bloody deserve sales of that scale however. Oh well, in less than 3 days we'll know for sure! I'm still hoping for at least 150 000.
