5 million is a big deal on the PS3, especially outside the CoD/GTA empire.
Assassin's Creed on the 360 sold 5 million, and that franchise, like LBP and Gears of War established itself early in the generation. None of the exclusive new IP's from 2009 onward have been successful on both the PS3 and 360. e.g. InFamous, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake, Mod Nation Racers, etc.
To be honest, I dunno the details for the contract Agent is under. Is it even under contract? FFXIII was only planned as an exclusive, and then went multiplatform. Still although it's almost certain Agent will remain a PS3 exclusive, if Rockstar market this and make it big, I can't picture it staying exclusive. Even PS2 GTA's went multiplat with the much less successful Xbox 1.
As for the contract for GTA Episodes, no one knew it was limited to a timed release until after both DLC were released on the 360 for a good period of time.
Gears Pre-order total count is over inflated due to it's April release, but it's weekly gains are not inflated, and it's still getting 2/3rds the pre-orders of Killzone 3, and is still 7th overall in weekly pre-order changes.
In the end, I disagree with your opinion, but that's my opinion. I respect yours, and although I disagree, I'll accept your view as your own. It's no more correct then mine is, it's just an opinion. Wow thats confusing lol
Good debate.

5m is a big deal but that has fast changed after PS3 SLIMS and will continue to chnage
why even compare Heavy rain, alan wake, modnation when you should yourself know they were nowhere near expected to sell well
yeah AGENT could go multiplatform but only like older GTA's on PS2 after one year
yeah gears weekly is big not denying that, was just debating over total count

Heavy Rain, Alan Wake, MNR, MAG, and InFamous were all new IP's that didn't sell 5 million. I agree they probably did't aim for 5 million, but I think except for InFamous and HR, the others fell short of expectations. We have no indication that Agent will be a big budget game anyway, Rockstar has produced more modest selling games then blockbuster hits. Outside of GTA, no Rockstar game has yet to have broken 5 million on a single console, and all their big games are multiplatform. It doesn't make sence that Agent will become bigger then anything else they made outside GTA.
Agent couple go multi-platform, and I agree if it does, it will likely be a timed exclusive. Generally when devs sneak around contracts it's by timed exclusives (GTA IV Episodes is a perfct example).
and Gears total count I agree with you, but my point was that the weekly gain for it is still 2/3rds of Killzones lol!
Anyway were done debating, we know each others opinion. Good luck on your exams.
