I wouldn't say thats 3D though. Augmented Reality games on the PSP did the same thing, though in a much more simplified manner, and they were never marketed as 3D features.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I don't get it, where is the 3D??

there are 2 types of 3D

one is the popping out effect and the other is the depth of the screen effect

3DS has both

Wow I see it now, that was awesome!

Found a nice vid to explain how it might look.

I watched two of those videos... The tracking is nice and all... But... not in terms of people knowing my location... wtf?  This is going to be a stalker's dream console... Will there be any privacy settings?  Damn...

Is anyone else concerned about this, or are you all register gun owners?

is it something like this or what?

Thats using cameras to try to emulate tilt controls.

3DS and NGP have both a "wii motion plus" equivalent that knows if you walk around too, not only tilting the machine.

well either way, the point still remains.  that and the kind your thinking about or that ipad versoin above are all different kinds of 3D.  They ain't going to cut into the potential 3D market that the 3D's makes.

yea... i also noticed in the uncharted demo. it's good enough to me. :)

Sure were talking about a fake sense of depth here, since it is a flat image that follows your head tilt, much like Wii VR by Johnny Lee.

autostereoscopic is another topic completely different.
