NGP is not revolutionary  what it will do is already on the market

Pretty graphics are just an upgrade

I can't see this being more than 400, and thats the upper end. And 300-350 is quite good for the tech.

a. often Revolutionary Relating to or being a revolution: revolutionary war; a museum of the Revolutionary era.
b. Bringing about or supporting a political or social revolution: revolutionary pamphlets.
2. Marked by or resulting in radical changea revolutionary discovery.
n. pl. rev·o·lu·tion·ar·ies
1. A militant in the struggle for revolution.
2. A supporter of revolutionary principles.

i guess we disagree on what is revolutionary

you think another analog stick is and I don't think so.

Launch it with a $300 price tag, and include a new Monster Hunter and Gran Turismo and they'll have an insanely good launch across Japan and EMEAA.

When did i ever say it was revolutionary? Never. But you said that what it will do is already on the market. I have never seen anything like it on the market, so i will ask you again. Have you?

I don't understand how developers are supposed to create console like games for $10 when console developers are barely scraping by selling games for $60. You can't have it both ways. If you want console like games, then they are going to cost console prices. If you want $10 games, then they are going to be like the iPhone games.

actually you CAN have both.  Thats part of whats so promising about this system there will be standalone $50-$60 console like experiences with incredible graphics on the flash memory sticks.

AND there will be downloadable cheap 5 - 10 dollar games.  If Sony delivers on their promise it offers something for everyone which is simply awesome.

A DS can use the second screen to simulate dual stick controls (see metroid prime hunters)

The NGP's problem isn't going to beat the 3DS for one main reason. HIstory. Nintendo has the best exclusive libraries of characters ever. For a while i was confused why doesn't nintendo release pokemon on the Wii, or why hasn't there been a a regular Kirby game ((well there is one coming out now, but like 5 years later)) It's because they know that people want to play a unique game on their handhelds. I don't even think if the NGP had a low price point that it would make it sell as much as the 3DS, and once again that's because there is no way they would have the long slew of games that the 3DS will have. There is no way the NGP can compete with what the PSP had to compete with ((5-7 different pokemon games that all sold like hot cakes. Or 5-7 Mario games that did the same thing)) This surely what the NGP is going to have to deal with, and perhaps to a greater extent, seeing as how Nintendo is coming out fast and quick with games that will catch people's eye, and bringing back old character ((Pit from kid icarus.)) I understand that Sony has some Great titles that are in the works, but nonthing, and i mean nothing sells more than the Mario Franchise, or Pokemon... Now Combine them, then add the big hits like Kirby, Donkey Kong, Zelda, and the other slew of new games that Nintendo Can think of ((nintendogs Cats, Brain Age, and what ever else)) Yeah sorry but I don't care how good your games look, or what your machine can do ((don't get me wrong the NGP looks freakin sweet, I plan on picking one up eventually (((probably when i stop being a poor college student))), But i just don't think it can beat the 3DS)) I mean Maybe if Sony can put out Crash bandicoot, Sly cooper, and other classic titles on a regular basis then maybe it will stand a better chance. But Man i just don't see how anyone can compete with Nintendo as long as they are basically bringing rocket launchers to a knife fight. Please feel free to give counterpoints, I would love a discussion.

I hope I didn't imply you said it. I said it wasn't revolutionary
Touch controls like another poster mentioned.  That is how the ds did it and it was fine.  3d is not revolutionary either. It is a feature that can enhance gameplay if done right
