I finally played this game for the first time from the demo on PSN. Its pretty good I dont know why people were mad at it.  It starts out pretty slow but when it picks up I love the twist at the end of the first level. I wouldnt say its better than HOD overkill, but IMHO its miles ahead of the RE chronicles games. I think people just hated it cause it was not the game that the HD consoles got, but instead of judging it for what it was it was being judged for what it isnt. But WTH i like on rail shooters so it might be me. I wanna get the Wii version, cause the PS3 version's file is large and HD space is getting low, but I might just get the PSN version cause its cheaper. Amazon has new copies going from $17-23 plus the 4 dollar shipping. PSN is 15

i'm with you on this. IMO for single player it's the best lightgun shooter the wii has while overkill is clearly the better co-op game. both are better than the RE titles.

It got a lot of bad press because EA claimed the game was a "test" and it's "on rails." I've heard a lot of great things about it from people who actually bothered to play the game insted of instantly shunning it.

Or most of the people I talked to like myself who tried it, it's a bad lightgun game cause the entire appeal of lightgun games is 2 player crazy shoot anything that moves gameplay, it is the opposite, slow, few enemies, full of people talking nonsense, and the Wii version is actually gltichy at times.

It's just not that fun and that's the name of the game when it comes to on rails shooters.  Even Resident Evil, though it's trying to have a serious story, has a fuck ton of zombies to shoot with cool adaptions of the main series' bosses.

@Mr T Tar  to be fair the guy never promised that it would have the same gameplay, all he said is that it will mantain the creepiness of it. And from what ive played thats exactly what they did.

@auxmblade I think some are mad that the PSN version exists at such a cheap price, some feel that it "devalues" the game or some crap, I guess some Wii owners feel like they got the shaft.  The game is still more expensive on Wii

You could find it for 15 at gamestop new at one point, looking at their site they bumped it back up to 30 for whatever reason, Gamestop likes to do that if a sequel is coming out.  I'm guessing other places are selling it at 20 range because it's getting publicity with DS2.

@auxmblade  oh yeah i def. remember it, i dont think ive seen a game get that much hate in awhile, I get some people did not like it, I could see that. It is much more slowly paced than the other on rail games, but I know for a fact that a good chunk of people didnt even play the damn thing. Oh well at least its being given another chance.

People's frustration is less about the gameplay itself and more to do with EA's 'testing ' of the wii base. After the game didn't sell EA decided to trash wii consumers.

It especially looks bad when the iphone gets a better version of the game for a fraction of the price...with touch screen controls.

Well then I guess they didnt pass the test???? I mean if the game sold badly why would they make a follow up for Wii?? That doesnt make sense, as for the Iphone version, didnt play it so I cant comment

^^^^ no one has yet to shown me where EA ever said they were making a proper DS for Wii, all they said was where going to keep the creepiness of DS, and thats exactly what they did.  Im not going to get into conspiracy theories about "evil" EA because at the end of the day even if their was some truth to those?? So what??? If they dont wanna support a system, they dont have to. If thats your system of choice then that sucks, but it is what it is. Lotta systems got ignored by companies in the past, nothing new

Yes, and we don't have to buy them, and facts are EA looks like it sticking two  fingers up to Wii owners.

When nintendo's next home console comes out, it would be in nintendo interest not to release games by 3rd party who cried about low sales  EA, Sega, Capcom (yet sold less on HD consoles), and limit releases like the Nes to only a few games per year.

Maybe the Wii will get a port of the iPhone version.. which is a scary Third Person shooter... and better and scarier then Extraction..
