Forums - Gaming - So what will you get? 3DS or PSP2.

I think people are vastly overrating the "NGP is much better" talk right now. First off, its in its announcement hype. Second off, the only things different are the duel analogs, and having a second touch screen.

The dual analogs won't be NEARLY as much strong incentive for people to buy a NGP as people think. Analog sticks for handhelds are not all that popular and don't work as well (the NGP seems to have nubs for analogs AGAIN). It's a nice feature, but it doesn't blow away the 3DS. 3D > Dual Analogs on a handheld.

Second, the second touch screen looks pretty gimmicky. I realize people said the same thing about the DS when it first released, but using two touch screens at the same time - Can you even imagine that? How the hell is that "revolutionary"? Not only does it sound awkward to control, it sounds inaccurate.

Aside from those two things, what else does the NGP have over 3DS? Nothing aside from horse-power, which will come at a cost (being more expensive), and horse-power only has you graphic junkies excited. I'd take 3D over stronger graphics any day. =/ After this, it comes down to which system has the better games. So far, 3DS is clearly winning this, and since its got the jump on NGP, it's gonna get tons of 3rd party support which means NGP is going to get left out to certain extents.

I'm not getting either until price cuts. The 3DS doesn't interest me all -that- much, and the NGP interests me even less.

I'll get 3DS.

NGP looks more like a portable version of Ps3 (just like PSP was a portable version of Ps2)...I already have a Ps3, I don't need another one atm, also I spent too much money this gen, I'm downsizing, I can't afford 2 portables.

Im surely getting both on release day. 3DS because of 3D and the NGP because of the synergy with the PS3 as well as  3G and the different control method available, more importantly 2 analogue stick (finally).

Though, PSP was a downgraded version of PS2. NGP is more like an upgraded PS3 that also allows remote access to your PS3.

most likely both.

though last time I got PSP first because I believed DS didn't yet have the games I wanted (was a sure buy anyways), this time I'm getting a launch 3DS. I just want a 3D camera :p (only games I want are paper and kid)

Wait did you just say: 3D on a handheld > Dual analog sticks?  Just think of how much easier it will be to control games like Resistance or any racing game with the extra stick there.  Camera controlling will be easier to with the games that don't use Fixed Cameras.  Also, if I remember correctly when your in 3D mode on the 3DS wasn't there an additional strain on the battery when your using that feature?

As for battery life, luckily this time Sony opt for Flash instead of UMD, this is much better for battery life without having those moving parts.  There is still a lot we still don't know about the system, so until then for all we know it could be $500 (yes I realize that's highly unlikely).

I will get both NGP and 3DS =D UHU crazy for the both

Neither most likely. But if I do succumb to getting one, it'll probably be the NGP. My bro has had a DS and psp forever and I only ever played the psp, never found anything interesting enough to make me play a DS. The NGP's other functions also sound more interesting.

Would have been better to include an actual poll with the thread

Did they really claim it was more powerful than the ps3? I'll believe it when I see it.

3DS, but I'm a Nintendo fanboy, so it doesn't count.
