um we don't even know when it's coming out and your already saying it's doomed it just annouced uncharted and killzone and said it will be way under 500 usd this actually might have a chance outselling the 3ds
so i agree with you this is totally doomed!!!

Nope, 3d is very important, especially for developers. What 3d does is make a huge visual impact on any game (even original gameboy games) without any extra expense. Thats why developers are so interested in the 3ds.
Now on the flip side: In order for NGP to have a huge visual impact is to have ps3 like graphics. This adds tens of millions to a budget of a normal game. Thats probably the reason why ngp seemingly have no 3rd party support.
Another note, 3d is a graphical enhancement that can actually improve gameplay. No amount mapping and shading does that.

I wasn't saying that 3D will be a fad. Was just saying that the 3DS regardless if it ends up going Wii route or Gamecube route in total sales lifetime, I believe it will have a Wii start.
It will be an instant Fad, and everyone will want to try this glasses free 3D. Now I believe that it will continue to sell like the DS, thus not being a fad, but just not sure how to describe a huge booming start better than saying Fad. I mean first thing that comes to mind when i hear that is stuff liek Tickle me Elmo and its gajillion sales in one holiday. And thats how i see 3DS starting, just basically sold out non stop first year through holday season.
I mean look how HUGE Wii was and how fast it spread for how little marketing was done. ALL seemingly was successful due to word of mouth and trying or playing is believing idea. Now look at Wii vs. 3DS. See the major difference? 3DS is PORTABLE. Meaning you can take it to your firends, family, school, work, anywhere as easy as heck and just whip it out in seconds and show it off. No need for a TV, to hasle of setting it up and so on. Hell I'm planning on showing my work buddies it when i get it right away. With the Wii I would have had to have them come over to my house or bring it to their house or some other method. Basically just saying WORD OF MOUTH will be trumpt when it comes to 3SD marketing by just SHOWING on the spot. I mean everyone who has a 3DS is basically a walking Kiosk.
honestly I don't care about sales the one that's a better system and has a better collection of games will win my sale!
