Forums - Gaming - The Pope talks about violent videogames .... he doesn't like them

Well he is entitled to his opinion, but I kinda agree that it's not ok if violent and/or sexual content are directed at children.

Adolescents can't be saved tho.

I am genuinely surprised that the Pope still thinks that majority of the world gives a shit what he thinks. First it was the condoms, now video games. What's next homophobic comments and attacks on Islam?

Well it is not the majority but their are still a lot of people who care about his words...

This information has shocked me to the core.

well some one should tell the pope that they aren't aimed at children. its stupid parents buying them for them

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

I hate to break the trend here, but the actual words in the OP's quote are NOT objectionable. It says "exalt violence and portray anti-social behavior or the trivialization of human sexuality". If violence and sex are treated maturely with clear consequences and an element of morality, that also makes the film/game a better film/game because the consumer can identify with it and maybe take something away from it.

He's not saying they should be banned, he's saying content creators should be more reponsible when including those elements.

not exactly shocking

The pope talks about condoms... He doesn't like them.

The pope talks about gay people... He doesn't like them.

The pope talks about sex... But strangely thinks he's entitled to lecture people on it even though he has never experienced it (supposedly) and has no academic background on the subject.

The pope talks too much but says little of interest.

blah, blah, blah.......

Just focus on your priests and there intentions.

he must be one boring man to hang out with
