Forums - Sony - Firmware v2.10 for PS3 is up

It doesn't support old divx files, IE ones encoded with 3.11.

But they'd have to be about 4 years old?

Sadly much of my por... i mean educational video's that are AVI/DIVX are coming back saying they are "corrupted" and cannot play. But there are quite a few that do play quite well and completely.

Guess it's time for me to upgrade my collection to newer videos encoded with the newer version of divx.

My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.

That's the spirit! Replace all those old ..educational.. videos with new ..educational.. videos!

Yep.. I already have that great educational video "I dream of Jenna". Quality! And very educational. :)

Planet Earth visualizer; very pretty.
Now if I could only use Folding as the visualizer (as in play music lists in the background while running Folding).
I'm wondering if that BD folder is for web enabled feature add ons for the updated profile. HD-DVD uses storage space on the drive to store individual added content for each disc you play/download web content on. Not too cool considering the internal storage for the 360 HD-DVD drive is only 256MB. Now HDD storage for the PS3 on the other hand...

If any one is interested the new updated now allows you to play all PSone games (downloads and discs) on your PSP via the remote play feature.

I need help. Can anyone here suggest a good video streaming program. I am currently using winamp remote but it seems kinda slow and tends to drop out often which shouldn't be happening considering I am using a wired connection from my ps3 to my pc. Thanks in advance.

Disregard my last post I got it working using windows media player 11 and it works flawlessly. Talk about an unholy union of Sony and Microsoft lol

Better than nothing I suppose.

it plays avi files that use a divx/xvid codec which is extremely common, it also plays wma files. can you please elaborate or are you just trolling?

it should play most of your anime/movies/tv shows.

AVI is a container.  There are several codecs that can play AVI files.  You might have to find out what codec your AVI is using.  (As stated above, it's most likely Xvid or Divx, so you may want to try them again.  That is if your not trolling.)

It seems the mods need help with this forum.  I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.
