The visuals were pretty well done, the rest of the movie was rather disappointing

How did I know you'd be the thread creator when I read the title of the thread?

I still haven't had the chance to see this unfortunately. Heck, it took me a good 6 months to finally see Inception. I've only seen like 3 movies this year. I've gotta catch up after uni is done!

You def gotta see this one! In blu-ray!

The crazy thing is that I've had the movie for months (on blu ray) sitting 3 feet away from me. My cousin has become somewhat of a blu ray collector with a good 70 or so movies. It's at the top of my to watch list. I absolutely loved '9'.

9 is one of the rare Tim Burton movie I haven't seen! I'll watch it soon 'cause you hyped me!!

I can understand people not liking Alice in Wonderland but I think everybody should at least try to see it!

Typically I like Tim Burton films. He seems to bring to life a lot of the weirdness I have in my head but can never express so it's good to see those bizarre thoughts and creation come to fruition. Really the only one I was disappointed with was the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie just because I compared it to the classic that is a childhood highlight for me. I had an unfair bias going into that movie.

I hope you enjoy 9. I know a lot of poeple didn't like it because it's animated and it took on more mature themes, but that's what made it stand out for me.

Yup Tim Burton's style is definitely crossing mine. Whether it's Edward Scissorhand or Sweeney Todd or even Mars Attack! (lol!), I find him remarkable. I loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory myself but then again I haven't seen the original one and I basically love every movie I see lol

People say I don't have a good taste in movies but oh well!

it was a decent movie until the last few scenes which ruined it

Mars Attack!!! I loved that movie! It's so cheesy it oozes greatness! Danny DeVito FTW! I had no idea Tim Burton was involved with that movie until now. I saw it when I was only 8. My first taste of anything Tim Burton related was The Nightmare Before Christmas and I've looked forward to all his work since then.

As for people's tastes... well to each their own, right? If someone enjoys something I don't particularly care for I'm glad they have something they enjoy and care about... as long as it isn't hurting anyone else.

True, true.

They're the average oscars though. Which is good, because it was a distinctly average movie.

The Oscars can go fuck themselves this year. Christopher Nolan was not nominated for Best Director AGAIN! Andrew Garfield was snubbed for Best Supporting Actor in the Social Network. Shutter Island did not get one measly nomination not even cinematography.

I am unhappy.

It's mostly like that every year, though.

I've learned not to take the Oscars too seriously but it's hard as it is so big and so influential.
