I think the Scandinavian European countries are nice, the standards of living are really high, what's negative though is the high tax, but you get what you pay for with public services being better, the roads well paved etc. What I also like about Scandinavian countries is if there are any benefit frauds, people who are perfectly eligible to work but refuse to do so and live on Government funding, they are shunned for not working and instead leeching off from the rest of the country, whereas in UK it's perfectly normal.
PS. I understand if there are special circumstances that do not allow individual to work, but when the said individual lives off the Government benefits while working for cash on the side for the last decade or two, you know that there is something wrong with the system.

I don't know whereabouts in the UK you're from, but in my area, people living on welfare are very much shunned.

The USA. The best quality of life by a country mile, very liberatarian society, amazing geography... plus, the little things... like car parks where you can actually open the doors of your car without worrying about dinging the car next to you, the radio tells you which song is currently being played, supermarkets like Publix, where they take shopping out to your car, trash collection done very early in the morning, as to not disrupt traffic (something my local council could really learn from), unlimited sodas at most restaurants, a very large number of businesses are 24 hours, meaning that your demands can be met no matter what the hour.
None of those things make it the best place, but they all add in and are the peverbial cherry on the USA cake.
