As you may recall, Kadokawa Games held a press conference in Japan this past Thursday, where they showed off Rodea the Sky Soldier, developed by Sonic the Hedgehog creator, Yuji Naka’s studio, Prope. We now have a trailer from that same conference, courtesy of Famitsu.

Rodea the Sky Soldier is a Wii and Nintendo 3DS game. The Wii version is controlled using simply the Wii remote. The trailer above shows lead character, Rodea, in flight. This is done by pointing the Wii remote wherever you want to fly. You can press the B trigger to get there faster. The A button makes Rodea use a gun attack.

No details have been revealed about the 3DS version of the game so far. There’s a good chance that Rodea the Sky Soldier will make it over to the U.S., considering Kadokawa have already trademarked the localized name.

First off, the cutscenes looked horrible >_<

The actual game looked pretty good though, the flying was fast paced and cool to watch - I do see a bit of Sonic like you said

The music was the best part of the trailer - This is gonna sound funny but I felt the music sounded like how the game looked, it sounded free and alive :)

The cutscenes were awesome! though they did remind of the style of cutscenes used in Sonic heroes and shadow the hedgehog

This game is gonna be soooo awesome im buying it for Wii and 3DS I dont even care if its the same game.

Sonic better watch out he might not be coolest character alive anymore

 Nice trailer, now I undertand the gameplay and it looks really good, but I am loving the music, as someone said above, it goes really well with the game... Wii version for me pls...

Honestly Yuji Naka should have done something new. He instead took NiGHTS and Sonic and merged the two to create a super game. I never really liked NiGHTS but I did love Sonic. I'm not sure I'm going to pick this one up I might rent it if it gets great reviews and VGChartz users like it. But I'm not optamistic!

looks fun, music sounds great as well
