Forums - Sony - PSP2 to Have 3G Support, Arrives This Year

3g cannot possibly be free; plus it would've been better if it was 4g, unless it''ll be LTE which latency should be below a 100. i don't know, 3g can be unpredictable for online gaming. plus it's entirely dependent on where you are and how many cell towers are you there is. also, they better have a fix on this 3g to wifi transition as well for a smoother online gaming

Sounds like it'll have 3G in Japan, but what about NA???


Also, OLED touch screen sounds nice.

Have to wait on size and games to be able to see whether I'll want it over a 3DS though.

No seriously I didn't think about that but yea, strange there's not 100 leaks already. Maybe they found/killed teh ninjaz infiltrated!

yeah maybe they found them and executed them....buhahhahahahhaha

or maybe those 'rumors' about them leaking random false info was true? I mean we have been hearing all sorts of rumors on it....various mock designs and such but nothing concrete....

BUT I fully expect to see a leak by Tuesday at least....this just goes against tradition now

I don't see Sony just walking in and taking the handheld market from Nintendo,  unless it launches at $200. Sony butchered the PSP brand, and unless they do TOTAL changes, (like Nintendo from GCN to Wii) developers may still abandon the PSP2, after all, Sony seems to be making the same mistakes they did with the PSP.  Another thing is, 3G. If Sony decides to use 3G, they might as well make it 3G/4G since 4G towers are being built everywhere, but either way, the price seems high.

The lack of 2 sticks (and piracy of course) was a huge problem for some games on PSP, and for developpers to bother finding an alternative. Expect to see a diferent situation with the PSP2.

Agreed 2nubs = FPS games on the go a reality and I hope the piracy situation will be different this time around

Well, most western devs did. Games like Split/Second and Army of Two appear on the PSP because they are made by small indie devs, and not the publisher. Sports sims appear on the PSP because they are usually ported from the PS2.

Even Sony themselves seems to have abandoned the PSP. Like I said, none of the main teams are making PSP games. The only teams that make PSP games are SCE Santa Monica, and SCE Japan. Most other games, like I said, were made by indie devs.
