I don't see Sony just walking in and taking the handheld market from Nintendo, unless it launches at $200. Sony butchered the PSP brand, and unless they do TOTAL changes, (like Nintendo from GCN to Wii) developers may still abandon the PSP2, after all, Sony seems to be making the same mistakes they did with the PSP. Another thing is, 3G. If Sony decides to use 3G, they might as well make it 3G/4G since 4G towers are being built everywhere, but either way, the price seems high.

you make it sound like developers abandoned the psp or something :S while I do agree it could use more support it always got a steady stream of great games every year

Well, most western devs did. Games like Split/Second and Army of Two appear on the PSP because they are made by small indie devs, and not the publisher. Sports sims appear on the PSP because they are usually ported from the PS2.
Even Sony themselves seems to have abandoned the PSP. Like I said, none of the main teams are making PSP games. The only teams that make PSP games are SCE Santa Monica, and SCE Japan. Most other games, like I said, were made by indie devs.
